Updated version of Snowflakes, BeccaJohnson will be putting vocals over this one and I make a few adjustments when she's done. Let me know what you think of the drums (mainly the one thing I changed from the previous version). Also let me know if I can adjust anything, once I get her vocals in, to make it sound better. Hope you all enjoy!

Thanks for the input Feter, I can't wait til Becca's finished with it. Her vocals are pretty impressive and I think the song will turn out to be phenomenal. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

It is amazing how much &mdash 01/29/08 - 05:30:47 PM
Talent is here at MJ, and this piano seems to have that MJ magical sounding talent here as well. Nice addition with the drums and when the ambient type orchestration kicks in, it really gets dramatic. Nice!
The piano shines especially with the orchestration for some reason, but the whole tune was nicely done I thought.

The music drama that you tune provides is quite striking, especially in at the theme parts.

WAy to go

Thanks for all the comments guys, I really appreciate them. This song's going to get a whole lot better when Becca puts the vocals to it. I can't wait. And Dee, you definitely found a great place to come learning; I'm still learning myself too but you couldn't have stumbled across a better place as the people here at MJs are amazing and very supportive. Thanks again guys!

Tickle those ivories &mdash 02/04/08 - 07:39:57 AM
Cool track. I like the contrast between the live piano and the freeze-dried drums. There's a contrast in character, but soundwise they fit nicely in the mix.

Some piano tones ring quite long. They might be in the way if you're going to put another layer on top.

Thanks for the last couple comments guys, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been a bit busy with school and hadn't had time to reply. Vic - I know the notes are sustained a bit too long, I recorded this when I first started and didn't know how to integrate sustaining so I just made the instrument last longer. I haven't really had the motivation to go back and change the entire thing to sustain automation but it is on my list of things to do. Thanks again for the comments and I'll get to adjusting the notes soon!

Amazing! &mdash 02/29/08 - 08:36:30 AM
Your work simply takes my breath away... Everything I've posted so far is old home studio work... Now with MIDI, GB I feel like I'm learning everything over again! I hope I can get to this level someday!

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the great comments here Mark. I haven't had time to go over your stuff, but rest assured, I will be browsing through it when I get the time. I'm sure you have much more musical talent than I and the new technology does have a pretty hefty learning curve. I'm positive you'll grasp it soon. Thanks again, hopefully you'll come back when Becca's done with the vocals. Thanks again!
