Description:
A hip hop beat I've been working on. Sort of a tribute to Macjams as I have used alot of useful tips, techniques, and goodies that I found out about on this site.

Use of two Boldt instruments (Violin and Andre Piano), and MDR instrument (accordian), and three plugins: Vinyl by Izotope, Inspector and Turntablist AU. All of these can be had free and I think I navigated to all of them from links in Macjams forums. Send me a note if you want a link. Also, a tiny sample found and Looperman.com is used as well.

I'd like to put lyrics to this one, but I thought I'd throw out the instrumental thus far for any suggestions/comments/thoughts first. So by all means leave me a few!

Hardware:
M-Audio Axiom 25, M-Audio Studio Pro 3 Monitors, Macbook

Software:
Garage Band 3, iDrum, Turntablist AU, Vinyl, Inspector

I do like this master bed for a vocalist. I think it works well by itself and it could be a good ground for any other gene too. An hybrid maybe. Good work.

thanks man &mdash 01/31/08 - 08:30:31 AM
Im glad you enjoyed it. I was just in Lima a few months ago, been back lately? I hope you post music soon so I can check out your style.

As far as vocals I was thinking of going a traditional hip hop route. . but now I'm going to consider mixing it up a bit.

Thanks for stopping by!

like the structure of this song. Nice use of the strings too.

thankyou &mdash 02/04/08 - 01:13:40 PM
thankyou for the comment. the structure is pretty basic but I'm glad you could appreciate it. Im still struggling with the string part actually. at first I ran it through Izotope's Vinyl to try to make it sound more sample-esque. I couldn't really achieve the sound I wanted. My next thought is maybe making the string part in stereo to give it a fuller, more live sound. Maybe that would help?

Anyways, thanks for stopping by. I'm trying to play catch up to guys like you, so whenever you take the time to check out what I've got it is much appreciated.

Its Soundtrackish &mdash 03/05/08 - 11:43:45 AM
I agree with Tooshu. Sounds like music you'd hear in a scene where they are driving through the city or something. You definitely put work into the layout, and making the song more "alive", i.e. not the same stuff over and over. Good work

thanks for checking it out. sounds like the variation and structure are strong points. as Ive mentioned, I do hope to put lyrics to this when time/inspiration permits, but I still feel like something is missing. I want to give it more "groove" if that makes sense.

thanks again for stopping by!
