Description:
THIS SONG SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

Lyrics:
Home Alone (Words & Music by Craig Halkett)

Running round in circles
Getting nowhere fast
Not thinking of the future
Still living in the past

Chorus
Living ain’t easy
When your on your own
Got no one to talk too
Again your home alone

Of to work each morning
That’s where you feel alive
But you need much more in your life
Than friends from nine to five

Chorus

Life and soul at parties
Everybody’s friend
But deep inside you feel so sad
Going home alone again

Chorus

Everyday just seems the same
As the day before
Sitting lonely by yourself
No one comes to your door

Chorus

Good Song! &mdash 02/01/08 - 11:37:35 AM
Like your matter of fact voice. Conveys the lyrics well. Would like to see the lyrics posted. It helps to get into the song right away if you can follow the lyrics. Well recorded song. Like the way you keep the arrangement simple. Maybe hear a little Gordon Lightfoot in your sound which is a compliment as I like him a lot.

incredible texture in the voice. Dadai posted a nice tribute to The Everly Brothers and your vocal sounds very similar but lower in range. Which is fine indeed. Great clarity vocally,

Truly some of the finest folk singing here in MJ.

And the vocals are helped by the guitar as well.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful voice!

I Still have your Don't go Breakin this heart of mine on repeat on my Ipod for past two hours, with my ear phones in. Lyrics are so clear too.
Well another hit from me. With your Home Alone its really good when one can also hear the words clearly as well. You have a very strong powerful
'Voice' and I love it.

Good song Craig, &mdash 02/07/08 - 09:47:06 PM
Love the warm vocal on this one. I like the rhythm too. In my head I hear the harmony on this one. Celtic folk rocks.

Like the song &mdash 02/07/08 - 10:37:24 PM
And I like how you've done it. Simple lyrics and a straight forward melody are often the most effective. I think you have some serious clipping on your harmony vocal though, which kind of spoils the overall effect. The harmony itself sounds spot on, just way too hot when recorded.
Must listen to some more of your songs.
Cheers,
Neil

Great Song! &mdash 02/09/08 - 01:01:35 AM
This song could have been written for me. My wife died 11 years ago, just 40 years old. It totally sums up my life for the few years after her death.
Life is good again now, remarried 2 years ago to a lovely lady from Kyrgyzstan. But still have my memories, and this song did touch my heart
I just wish I had written it. Thank you for sharing this lovely song.
