Lyrics:
I wanna burn this to the groundI wanna watch it all fade to black
I wanna bury this in the dirt
I wanna put it all behind my back
I wanna bathe in ethanol
Wash my hands until they're clean
I never cared for consequence
I never thought about eventually
I wanna be an astronaut
I wanna fly far away from here
I wanna live in a big black hole
I don't wanna live my life in fear
I don't wanna tell you anything
I just wanna keep it all to myself
I don't wanna keep you in the dark
But yes I'd rather go tell someone else
I will try my best to be happy (I deserve...)
I will try my best to be real (everything you give me...)
I will try to forget everything (I need to...)
I will never show how I really feel (Feel this pain)
I wanna be an astronaut
I wanna fly far away from here
I wanna live in a big black hole
I don't wanna live my life in fear
I wanna be an astronaut
Fly myself far away from here
I wanna live in outer space
I don't wanna live my life in fear
Alright, alright
I'm guilty
I'm so sorry
I'm guilty
Alright alright
Put me away

Certainly is a mirror image of Nirvana.Nice vocal and guitar work.Well done and much enjoyed.

...is certainly present in this song. But it stands very well on its own, and doesn't need this reference. Great energy and brilliant production. Wowsers! Rocking my pants off (and you don't wanna see that!)

rsorensen
thanks, and yeah you're right! Keep the pants on man!
rsorensen
i tried a couple of times to change it up a little and make it more my own, but kept coming back to the Nirvana way. They definitely knew what they were doing! Ripoff? maybe, but I like to think of it as more as my homage ;) Thanks for listening, chaser!
Nick_Flash
Another great track. This has got great energy and then some. I think I might need to go kick over a speaker or smash a guitar now! Keep up the good work

hah! funny you should say that. i was thinking i'm going to have to play this one live with a Walmart guitar so I can smash it after that last solo. thanks for listening and commenting.
Vic Holman
one of my favorite bands. Like Walt says, it stands on it's own.
there is so much energy eminating here to light up a city block.
and man oh man, that is some intense vocal cord shredding.
rsorensen
Mine too. Nirvana's music is and will remain timeless. Thanks a lot for commenting.

Well done sir. Certainly one of the best put together rock songs I have heard on this site. Well mixed, tight rhythm, and very nice vocals. This obviously has a Nirvana edge to it, but there is definitely an element of you in there as well.
rsorensen
scott davies mixed this one down and as usual did a stellar job. thanks for giving it a listen and taking the time to comment

as soon as the intro started. It's packed with energy and manages to keep the pace. I like the little crazy guitars notes between the first verse. The nasa could certainly use the solo to power a rocket.
rsorensen
thanks a lot! we called that first solo the 'goofy' solo. originally it ran through the entire second verse but ended up clashing with the vox a little so we cut it short. thanks for checking this out.
ajnorth
something else man! so much energy and great guitar and production is fantastic. Wish I could get you kind of sound. Nice one!

I'm blown away and digging this storm - you're right about the solo - it's a face melter alright.
rsorensen
thanks, bud. the solo was a lot of fun.

You know, I usually don't like heavy rock, and it's mainly because I can't figure out what the lyrics are. Then when I do, I wish i hadn't. This is different- the lyrics are clear, and the emotions convey what we've all felt at times. The energy in here is amazing. I can't imagine me trying to record high energy music and have it sound fresh, after all the recording it takes me to get it right. This sounds like I'm at a concert. And that solo is great!
rsorensen
thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate your comments. I gotta give Scott much credit for the mix. He has a real knack for making my vocals really bite - even in sonic assaults like this

I liked the vocals the most...smooth one min, screaming the next!!
Great Bass sound too!!!
rsorensen
thanks for listening. it's a fender jazz bass through one of the bass expansion pack patches on a pod XT.
lavalamp
Yeah, I totally heard Nirvana on this, that I can't argue. Brilliant, absolutely, brilliant sound on this. This is a hit. And you will be sorely missed at Macjams when you leave. Just remember the little guys.

Sound like you yanked the jack out of the guitar.
Nice touch :)
rsorensen
I flicked the toggle to the other pickup with the volume down. Thanks for listening.

For me :)

The solo on this is amazing.
Very nirvina-ish but already sounds better than most of the post-grunge acts in the charts these days.
Well done.

I'd never heard this before. Fantastic. Balls out awesome. Sounds like me on that first guitar solo. Definitely not me on the second one. You made your guitar sound so much like a Fender Mustang it was silly. You piss talent.
Congratulations on the record release today!
Studioplayer
Cool tune bro. Makes me want to get a Firebird. That and some talent. LOL Rockin' out man. Great tune. Inspiring.
Actually Nirvana wished they did a song this good.
