Walking around truly beautiful Lake (1), loving the weather ! Being back home from Tennessee. (1)
Description:
The joy of kissing a redwood tree as my wife and I walk around Laganitas Lake. A few weeks prior, we were ready to take the trip back to the San Francisco area.
Here it is in AAC - .mp4 version.

I don't think MJ allows AAC .mp4, if they did, I would make the link to MJs site.

This is gorgeous, you let the listener join you in the ride home, as you enter the town of your heart's home...Joyful notes

Tom for posting that comment, I really enjoyed reading that.

I really like how you've been trying new stuff, adding instruments. You incorporate them very well. Everything about this is great, including the artwork. :-)
thetiler
I really appreciate you stopping by!

that lovely trip Bill. I love the lovely rich tone you got on the guitar and the well balanced mix of other instrumentation. So nice to listen to your music.... feels like I'm riding through the great scenery, cheers M
davisamerica
just the type happy groove needed today ... wonderful work sir! 2 hats off!
jiguma
Amazingly clean recording - the other instruments seem to be better incorporated in this than in previous hybrid tunes you've posted Bill. I'd love to hear you with a regular drummer rather then the loops (no, maybe it's midi) that you're using here - something about the accents on the ride cymbal doesn't quite click at times. However, that's because I'm becoming more and more obsessed with drums I guess.
The sound of your recording of Betsy and the confidence with which you play shines through!
Lovely post.

Howdy Thetiler,
Great pickin' of a superbly enjoyable melody... just like breezin' by all the scenery and not missing anything, taking it all in a peaceful mood!!!!!! I really enjoyed listening to this tune...thanks!!!!!!

You have a very smooth and seamless sound to your playing. Very enjoyable. Not sure about the synth decorations in the BG. Maybe I just don't like the synth sound. Regardless, very beautiful.

I can feel the joy of you returning to the familiar place you love. Nice melting of the Bridge into the redwoods there too. As always, your gorgeous playing really stands out here as smooth effortless music flows from your fingertips. The accompaniment of the flute was great (though it could be a teeny bit softer), and I thought the drum track was distracting, and could have been left off completely. The rhythm is carried just fine in your playing. I'm assuming you didn't get your old house back, right? So you have to start tiling all over again? :-)

Ya, we are in the process of deciding to do with the house we have there. We want to wait for interests rate to go down further before we buy again here. Luckily they seem to be going down in a consistent fashion:)
Yes, I am still doing tile contracting-installing.
Thanks for the input drak

Always a pleasure to hear your fingers play a lovely song, Bill. You never cease to please and amaze my ears

...playing, Bill. Your guitar is so precise in every measure and your rhythms so pleasant and varied. I love the chromatic business about :40 and following and then the seamless transition back to your original theme. This is just so pleasant in every way. So, S.F. area compadre, you capture Laganitas just fine. I'm already longing to return in the Spring and I will certainly bring your lovely tune with me!
Peace.

Paul, I really appreciate the comment, especially coming from such a master musician-composer as yourself.
Thanks again!
bud
was there a few months back. Never miss a visit if I'm in the area. Great fun tune - with lots of energy and inventive playing. Thanks for sharing.
thetiler
know how precious the redwood trees were to me until I didn't have then around when i lived in Tennessee.
Thanks for the post.

Really a great guitar!! :))
tooshu
I very much enjoy that guitar. I am waiting to get some real musicians recorded into my GB.
UncleTupeloFan
very breezy tune, full of wonder, really paints a picture. I had a chance to go John Muir Forest (I think that's what it was called, about 45 minutes north of the Golden Gate) a few years ago, and that whole area seems to transport you to another time and place, almost a spiritual experience. This song fits the bill.
Peace,
Paul
I really love this song... It makes me calm and give me a smile.
Take care of you and your wife

a lovely song, really great tone on your guitar and a wonderful sound, enjoyed this very much! Thanks!!

!
Hi there. I really am interested to know how you recorded the guitar so well....? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!
thetiler
I record with very good mics I think. They are c451b's, they are stereo. I am trying to record as close to the guitar body as I can. Lately, I have been trying not to get too close to the fret board because I just don't like the sound of slipping up and down the fretboard. So I have been trying to overcome that the best way I can.
But those mics are a little more expensive than regular priced mics, but anything that can get a good sound and I can afford I am all for.
I also think the plug ins like "Fat EQ" in Logic 8 and a tad of Space Designer are helpful.

to envy anyone that lives in San Francisco.I spent a week there years ago and never wanted to leave.Great happy song with a great feel and wonderful guitar!

Beautiful song and your guitar pickin is superb, I love this, it sounds so good!!
stratcat
and relaxing. Love the flute. Great picking. Good song for just daydreaming. Really nice feel to it.
VicDiesel
I guess I haven't kept up with your tunes. Last time I looked you were playing strictly solo. This getting more into smooth jazz territory, with those side-sticking drums.
Very enjoyable.
.... Song intro.... It has a great melody... I like hearing it.... And the flute is good to listen... I can hear that you're very good at guitar.... Great...

Lightman for stoppiing by!
