Description:
Weighing in at just over 4:30, this is the next stage of progress. With the addition of celesta and clarinet, version 4.0.
And still more to come...
Haecceity (from the Latin haecceitas) is a term from medieval philosophy first coined by Duns Scotus which denotes the discrete qualities, properties or characteristics of a thing which make it a particular thing. Haecceity is a person or object's "thisness".
Heacceity
I’ll begin my dream story with setting and sense
And attempt to deliver without much pretense
Stand with me tall as I unravel its tight stitches
The visions of meaning, and soul sought wishes
It is not long ago, it is not far away
It lies within each of us, where it will stay
Having said that, it is time to take flight
So close your eyes tightly and take inner sight
Imagine immersion in nature’s fine canvas
Imagine being one with its vision of vastness
Imagine the warmth of light rays caressing
Imagine the harmony concieved of its blessing
This is the setting of my mystic story
Over there, distant mountains in their bold glory
Vast fields of grass hold comfort in each blade
Born of nature’s brush, feel a presence, not man made
Imagine land’s edge embracing shallow water
Interrupting the folds like a reckless marauder
And as for its purpose, just follow its voice
It travels a journey made of its own choice
The sky greets the land and the sea with a smile
Sustaining all life that can stay for awhile
It is yours for a taste, so treat it with care
There are others here with whom you should share

Love the poetry... &mdash 02/04/08 - 07:32:30 AM
...fits the tune to a "T"...
...this would have made great theme music to the Giant's Superbowl victory last night!
;)
Gets better and better, Al...very very cool tune... [ Reply to This ]
Nice Articulations &mdash 02/04/08 - 09:52:26 AM
I like the way this has grown. Your use of the various string articulations is great...it's nice to hear JP4 being stretched to it's potential. The newest section is particularly effective with the counterpoint between the instrument families...cool.

love hearing what you do to these pieces, and yet it slightly depresses me at the same time. your education at GB university really shines through on your instrumentation and the tweaking of the sounds. the composition skills are probably something you always possessed. very nice. [ Reply to This ]

Apple doesn't use your music as a shining example of what can be accomplished using this software and your significant level of skill. They should be paying you, Al! [ Reply to This ]

how everything is spaced and placed for the listener to hear. Has the works in this. I kind of picture this almost like a movie "The Princes Diaries" in fact maybe if the producers or the powers that be from Disney might indeed like this. It sure seems that good to me. Try to send this to them for their 3rd sequel .
Ok maybe that sounds far fetch, but it sure sound that good to be on a big Disney Hit Movie Ali !

Those wonderful words paint a picture, sounding 'inspired' and are the icing on the cake to this lovely music you're making and very fitting to the feel of it... as I said before you're a perfectionist and this is 'close to perfection', cheers M [ Reply to This ]

full of favorite moments &mdash 02/05/08 - 09:03:15 PM
okay, so while listening to this, i kept thinking "This is my favorite part of the song!". And then, whaddaya know, the NEXT part is my favorite. Soon the song was done and I'm left commenting about my 30 favorite moments in your song. Your music evokes the strongest imagery... Ever think of doing your own versions of Fantasia? I know that sort of thing must be going through your head while you compose this stuff...
Really, really superb music, Al. [ Reply to This ]
