this really is nice rockin radio feel. Like how the male and female sound so nice together.
This would even go over big in a big country music awards show that is how good this delightful tune is.

Amanda, wow she sounds dang cute. The train sounds.
Love those slide sounds and how cool they do their grooves.
This sounds like it would be a hit. Every time I hear a gem like this I want to shake the DJ powers that be and yell out it's a hit you guys. "Slap that bad boy on the round table and give it a spin to all those millions of country listeners. They'd like it!
Really
Impressed!

grooving country song here with great vocals. It has a real 'live' feel to it and I love that driving beat, cheers M

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to have a listen. It's our first country song, although Amanda has an entire country album coming soon. There are tracks on her site, check her profile for a link.

what tiler said :-) a very radio friendly track with a nice gritty edge. Both the vocals and the music takes some great twists. enjoyed the ride!

BOLD TITLE &mdash 02/18/08 - 09:12:30 AM
I'm not a huge fan of country per se. But, this sounds as good as anything I've heard in the country world.
No reason this could not be a hit.
Amanda sounds super here.

BTW, I get the title.

Sounds great...and I only have to give one minor correction: I was playing a 1953 Fender Deluxe 8-string lap steel, and not a dobro.

Although...perhaps I need to go lay down a dobro track now. :)

Thanks Steve and Amanda!

not perfect, not country &mdash 05/22/08 - 01:28:35 PM
I want to be honest ... I am taken aback by the high scores assigned to this song in the other reviews hereof. I thought the song was presented with a light-hearted touch, intended to be fun, and in its own way, it succeeds at that. But marks as high as "9" in every category? I just don't see it.

One could deliver the subject of this song far more creatively than simply saying "trying to write the perfect country song and it's all wrong." Refer to the classic, "You Never Even Call Me By My Name" - there is an example of trying to write the "perfect country song" that is extremely creative and laugh out loud funny.

Because this song just comes right out and "states the facts" rather than "painting pictures" I grew quickly bored.

I am not trying to be mean spirited ... As I have stated elsewhere on these boards, I just don't see the "value" in "critiques" that have nothing to offer but "glowing praise." This song could be a whole lot better and, in my personal opinion, is not something a Nashville publisher would listen to (I dare say it would not get past the first 20 seconds in a publisher's office).

I realize that a publishing deal may be the furthest thing from the minds of the writers. In my reviews, I will use as a benchmark the assumption that each song I review seeks to be "cut" by a recording artist.

Trust me, the bar is set very, very high in Nashville.

All that having been said, I do appreciate the effort and, as I said, the element of fun contained in the song.

I hope my comments can be received in the spirit of constructive criticism as that is how they are intended.
