Lyrics
there is
an equation
that marries
cricket
chirps
to temperature

today
I killed
a cricket
with
the front
wheel of
my bicycle

the air
was filled
with music
mournfully
announcing
it's a thousand
degrees

I love the poem and the ;sounds of the cricket; I felt this poem.

i feel upset if I have to kill any insect I could not hurt a fly.
I loved the lines the air was filled with music mournfully announcing its a thousand degrees. Cheers well done.

Thanks Dee
Hello Dee,
Thanks for your encouraging comments. I was wondering if you can hear the heartbeat building near the end of the piece - I need to turn up my bass to hear it. I hope you'll visit my website where I read and analyze my poems and famous poems. www://www.anthonyarmstrong.ca Thanks for listening.
By the way, no crickets were harmed; I saw a cricket while bike riding and remembered something about the number of chirps per minute being connected to temperature.
Regards
Anthony

Cool poem
Yes I heard that too. The rate of their chirping does change with temp. Again a well produced whole. I like the idea of sound and music over verse. I also like to read the poem in its virgin state as I think one imposes ones own emotion and meter on the work. Its always interesting to contrast that against the author's interpretation of his own work.
I really enjoy you work,
Stephen
