Description:
2nd version of this piece. This version includes a bass line kindly played by apb, as a few people commented that the original bass sounded to GB midi. I was still keen to get a MUSE affected bass and APB delivered!

By far I think this is your best work. You are the man with a guitar...I've always said that and you prove it yet again.
Look forward to hearing more and working with ya!
Great job Adam as always.

Tobin

personally think this is my best, as I prefer my radio friendly stuff. But this is definately my most rockin number and it was nice to take it up a gear.
As always, thanks for commenting.

Godchaser
Groovin' piece with a strong solid bassline which brings to mind the band U2.Killer guitar tones,a fine mix and a well crafted tune.Much enjoyed.
Blessings,
ajnorth
for that. I like the fat sound to this too. I originally planned this to have a lot of space in it plus some vocals. But I then began to add more guitar and it just seemed to want the full on rock sound.
apb
.. despite my a-muse-ing experiments/efforts .. I still think the
resulting bass sounds like a pseudo Cliff Burton bass solo sound (!).. ah well .. and what variation I played
off the original line, does have a U2 leaning (that Godchaser mentions).
Thanks for accepting my input Adam, was my pleasure.
I like to sometimes not just criticise but offer some solutions.
Mix is good but .. ;o)
Cheers,
/Alan

guessing there is still room for improvement here. But I like the rawness of this, almost a bit angry sounding. I'm not gonna fiddle with this anymore as I think I will kill it!
Thanks for help with it. Much appreciated.

Still very cool, and a lot more Muse-y too with the bass, which is great. Still wanna hear that feedback though ;)
jiguma
This is a very cool instrumental Adam, aided considerably by Alan's bassline. I'd be very interested to hear an Echoroom vocal over the top (with appropriate tweaking of the bed.
Top bass sound Alan - wish the control strip swap thing worked better :(

...as a whole, but every instrument I hear has impact... Drums, guitar, bass, (synth?)... And each has space in which to have that impact...
Nice guitar line and harmonized bits...
Through my monitors, this is one of the more 'forward' basslines I've heard lately, but it doesn't get wooly, mushy or lose any definition...
Ed
ajnorth
for that. I wanted the bass to be prominant here as I think it is what drives the music.
There isn't a synth it in. The piano has an echo effect on it. The bass is very effected, (I'm not sure what effects are used as it was done by apb).
Thanks for listening
apb
No synths.
Effects used on USA made Fender Precision bass (some are GB, some are Logic Pro) are:
Bass amp, (GBv3)
AUMultiband Compressor, (GBv3)
*Fuzz-Wah, (Logic Pro 7)
*EVOC FB (Logic Pro 7)
*LoPass Filter, (Logic Pro 7)
*High Cut Filter, (Logic Pro 7)
*Clip Distortion (Logic Pro 7)
This was then mixed in with a duplicated track of the bass but without the *Logic Pro 7 plug-ins.

This sounds great and really captures attention. The bass line is perfect. I'll have to check out more of your work.
Nice job.
ajnorth

I have to say that your one of my favorites here at MJ. I honestly believe you've got a ton of talent. I do like the bass a lot better, too. I haven't checked your bio. (I seldom do). But, I bet you used to be in a band in your former life.
Singing and a good ending aare a must on this one.
Love your stuff, mate. Keep it up!
Dave
ajnorth

been in a couple of bands, but not for that long, I prefer working by myself and having complete control.

Your such an egomaniac, but I guess it takes one to know one..........I know what you mean.

This is the first I hear from you Adam. I haven't heard the first version but I really like Alans dirty bassriff from hell complementing the heavenly piano. Getting inspired of this.

ajnorth
you stopped by for a listen. Thanks.

Tack Niclas! Bass från helvete .. hehehe

enjoy the flow of the bass and the lead and how the chunka lead fuzz goes to the opposite ear. Lots of machine like combination sounds, just like clockwork. Nice rocking, or should I say, like the how you got the three sounds, one in the head and the ears. Ya, nice mixing as well.
Way to go aj and apb.
Thanks for sharing!
ajnorth
good to get a comments from you, much appreciated.

Hi Adam
This sonds like it was extremly very well produced and apb did a good job too.
Well done you guys. I myself got a lot to learn yet, but am getting there slowely but surely. I ony know if my ears like the sound and they very much like this lovely sound creation too. Cheers
Peace Dee.
