Description:
Another midi file taken direct from the notation and played through Garageband. As such it lacks what it would require in a real performance, and the finished work should be played 'rubato', with free changes in tempo; also their are a number of chromatic chords which should be much more dynamic and should increase in volume. That said, this is still in progress so any comments would be welcome!

Thanks Dee for the comment (and thanks Feter too) although I have to point you towards the song description at the top of the page (which you might have not seen) - unfortunately I can't take any credit for playing on this - it's a midi file, so basically it's the computer playing my notated score. I'm glad you found it expressive though, Midi files are generally very undynamic - the beautiful Steinway sample in the orchestral garageband jam pack helps to cover some of this up though!

First, I like the name.
Second, I like the piece.

Yes, the character of the piano could be better. It was score limitations and lack of tempo control that made me leap from GB to Logic.

Still, this is a fine work and its character comes through. Using Logic or Sibelius would allow you to add in the subtleties, though it takes much more time.

I'll look for more of your work.

even though you didn't play this, it sounds nice to me.

Thanks for sharing!

Enjoyed the playing &mdash 02/21/08 - 11:54:56 AM
plus interesting pic. Like drops of rain, at least from the pic and the piano sounds it seems like it sets a nice feeling in that direction.

Thanks for sharing.
