Description:
This was a simple guitar ditty that got out of hand. The acoustic guitar, mandolin, and bass are real. The piano, strings, marimba, and percussion, are midi-based. And there are two modified percussion loops. There was some reverb-abuse. Hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!

Hey Feter, that is a "professionally set-up" mandolin with more buzz than you can shake a stick at. It was one of those "sounds so bad, it's good" things so I left it.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and your kind words!

Hey, davisamerica, the mando was supposed to be a secondary instrument on this song but I thought it cut through kinda nice. This production got way more envolved than I originally anticipated... just kept hearing neat things in my head that I had to add. Anyways, always good to hear from you and your encouraging comments!

Caffeine is right &mdash 02/09/08 - 10:55:46 PM
What an energetic piece of music. And such a positive energy too!

Also you have my admiration for making such a full mix that still sounds transparent. There are lots of sounds that I can point at but which I can't quite name. It's all audible, and still nothing sticks out.

Excellent stuff.

Hey VicDiesel,
I love how when you record something, little sounds appear that you didn't necessarily intend. You listen to it and it's like a whole new instrumentation took place. You wouldn't believe the difference between the guitar ditty alone and the finished product. Thanks for the positive comments!

Great energy with this tune &mdash 02/10/08 - 05:04:24 PM
As Karmatoburn says this is very Metheny-esque with its joyous feel and full instrumentation. Great production and performance. BRAVO!

All the best,
Doug

love how the instruments react with the drums &mdash 02/12/08 - 08:39:49 PM
nice with the acoustic instrumentation. Plus, it doesn't hurt to have nice playing like you do with the guitar. Nice strumming ya!!! Then the mandoline with the orchestration is classic sounding. A smooth classical sound.

This is different that I normally hear with the guitar and mandolin.

You've done yourself a very nice sound. And among the best i've heard today!!!! Way go.

Very, Very nicely put together......
Most songs that are good, at one point
get out of hand this is were creativity is found.
And Grathy is right Blue Grass Latin...... What we
call fusion, making that global connection....

I........LIKE IT...........

Glad you like it, s/hound, it was fun to put together. What I didn't say in my introduction was that a lot of this song was created in a coffee shop on my Mac. It's so cool that we can carry our studios around with us and create when ever the need presents itself. Anyways... this is partially how I came to naming this song.
