Nice piece McBoy &mdash 02/08/08 - 10:30:35 PM
Like the guitar combo going on here. One thing I thought I heard was in the very fist part it sounded like the lead guitar was a little out of tune on a few notes.
Never the less, the playing and arranging is excellent. I like the different guitar sounds that weave in and out of this song. The discordant rhythm sounds and rhythm structure give it a very Brazilian Bosa Nova effect.
Great work Mc, thanks for sharing it.

I thought I'd seen this before &mdash 02/09/08 - 06:11:01 AM
and I'm pretty sure I left some kind words...the typical, you guys are amazing, it's not fair to the rest of us, etc. BTW- the original post did make me aware of Z's shift in playing styles... awesome stuff.
Beautiful song- soft nylon string sound is the perfect welcome for a newborn. Your talent is only overshadowed by your generosity. [ Reply to This ]
What a welcome! &mdash 02/09/08 - 09:16:48 AM
I love your flowing style. The bent pitches introduce just the right amount of tension and resolution. i really like the juxtaposition of styles you have in the accompaniment line. [ Reply to This ]
You screwed &mdash 02/09/08 - 09:45:19 AM
up some parts on the last one!? Only you could notice - this sounds superb -sounds a bit Latinish (I suppose that's the nylon strings).
Lovely playing.
Cheers

Please play something I don't like so i can at least say, ya, I don't like all McBoy's stuff. Heavy sarcasm there. Wonderful sounds, chords, and solos. Great piece. I dig those nylons. [ Reply to This ]
No wonder &mdash 02/09/08 - 01:14:59 PM

Beautiful &mdash 02/11/08 - 12:53:59 PM
McBoy and z293 - I can't thank you enough for this song. It is very touching that you would take time out of your lives to write and preform a song for my newborn daughter. I just played it for Avery while I was changing her and it seemed to calm her quite well...
The use of atonality in the early part of the song seems somehow appropriate to me... kind of like the uncertainty related to taking care of your first child... find out what works and what doesn't work... it just seems to resonate so well with the sentiment in the song.
Love it, love it, love it.
Thanks so much guys!

For always getting the ball rolling at the right time. Mason, congrats to you on the beginning of your long journey. My daughter is 22 but they're always your little girl. Enjoy her. [ Reply to This ]
Nothing like a little &mdash 02/11/08 - 06:30:53 PM
...Bossa Nova, very nice remix indeed guys, every little girl should have a jazzy Bossa Nova song named after them :)
