Description:
This is a draft of this song, pretty simple, Piano, bass and drums, with a guitar solo at the end. Haven't decided if i'll keep it this way or add some stuff in post production.
The vocals were done in one take, so i apologize if they aren't perfect.
the next draft will be alot better.
This is like a cross between Counting Crows Raining In Baltimore, and Ryan Adams Night Birds

Lyrics:
Raining In New York

Verse 1
The city is empty
down on Sullivan street
Not a soul left burning here alone
These ruins are trembling
and i've fractured from the fall
In a coma, by your window
Beneath this storm.

Chorus 1
And i know I'm slipping
Cause I've grown too tired to breathe
These walls are bleeding
Marked with yesterdays feelings
Your gaping wound is spreading
Infected from my disease
It's raining in New York
And you still reign over me

Verse 2
Strange conversations
Between the wind and the fog
Color me grey, build a cloud over me
Time became the demon
Lost within a river of wine
Where i waded when i was weary

Chorus 2
And my eyes are fading
Haunted by what they've seen
A thousand jaded faces
Staring daggers at me
This world keeps me spinning
in a bittersweet symphony
Where I awaken as a tear
Thrown down the face of this city

Bridge
And the water is rising
And it doesn't seem to end
Rising with the devil
towering my head
And a thousand strands of light
Seeps into your building
death strikes my finger tips
Time to start the healing

Verse 3
Love letters are falling
Into the street
Painted roses drawn on their face
It's raining in New York
And i feel so empty
Guess i'll catch the wind and drift away

Chorus 3
And i know I'm slipping
Cause I've grown too tired to breathe
Just a little guitar
Is all that i'll ever need
You'll always be cold
I'll always be lonely
Just fold me away
for a rainy day memory

start for sure. i think it has alot of potential. i liked the unorthodox guitar section at the end. i wanted it to pick up sonner, but for an idea, it has alot going for it. keep us informed as it progresses..

Thnx alot, The idea for the obscure guitar part at the end was taken from the Song Night Birds, I dunno if i'm going to keep it, depends... on how i feel i guess. I like the notion of having like a desolate song, that out of nowhere this roaring guitar solo comes,
