Description:
A song about the American Dream and how it corrupts even the best people.
It was written many years ago, then re-worked by me into its current shape.

This version in C is an amalgamation of my Demo version featuring backing vocals by Chella Elaine and Lead break guitar by pharmakeus.
In the end, Coelacanth decided to go with a version in A.

Very cool sound! &mdash 02/11/08 - 08:02:29 AM
I like this piece a lot. Mainly the vocal parts. It is nice to hear all of you guys again after a while. Hope I haven't been corrupted by the American ways after 24 years of living in NY! LOL.
I like the Orson Wells poster a lot. Great job guys!
Pharma's guitar solo is superb!

Hi Bernie, good to see you around these traps. I'm posting up older stuff bit by while I get consumed by my day job.
Should be able to get some new stuff up soon.

Such a big, fat sound &mdash 02/13/08 - 04:04:40 PM
I was really blown away by how big this little tune got. And though it be old, it certainly has aged well. Nice mix and performances all around. Great work!

Good to see a familiar face in these woods. This thing got bigger and bigger in the mix, but mostly because telling a story about bombastic people like Orson Welles and to a lesser degree Rita Heyworth became so big. Thanks for dropping by for a listen!

cool song &mdash 02/14/08 - 11:38:40 AM
Cool song, Art!, like how it developes...
fine guitar by Pharma (how is he, these days?)
the american way......, as a european citizen, I often look with amazement to america and it's politics.
And my feelings about the last 6, 7 years are not that positive....
But I'm very positive about your song!
Keep up the good work!
KC

Thanks man &mdash 02/14/08 - 03:37:45 PM
Pharmakeus is feeling a lot better. I've been a bit too busy to call him, but I think he's back to working on some music tracks.

This is one of the biggest mixes I've ever done. I did a calculation of all the tracks once and it came to 50+ tracks. It was a massive job mixing this thing. Sound Track is a wonderful tool. Doing this in analogue would have been incredibly expensive and even more difficult.

yes indeed - &mdash 03/09/08 - 03:30:24 PM
superb work, an excellent sound, so warm and instant.A gain your stuff does remind me of Frank Zappa. This is masterpiece I think, so inventive and perfectly constructed.
