Description:
This is a song that Bud posted awhile back (Darkness till Dawn), and he was kind enough to send me the files so that I could play around. Bud plays all guitars, drum loops, electric piano, and supplied the parakeets that you hear in the background. I did the synths and vocals.
For some reason this song reminded me of Can, so i went with that vibe. I think it's the first time I've heard Kraut-rock with Spanish lyrics. Did the vox in Spanish because i recently did a collab with Blaky Smith and I loved his vocals on it; seeing as how I don't speak French I went Spanish (which I'm pretty bad at - especially considering that my mom's family speaks Spanish almost exclusively). It's about my wife Nicole.
oops: originally there was a much cooler bass track, but for some reason it was all mangles when Bud sent the file. eager to just jump in, i re-recorded it (sorry Bud). here is the link for Buds original: http://www.macjams.com/song/38994

Hardware:
intel mini mac, m-audio 49e keyboard, i think that Bud plays a danelectro guitar
Software:
GB4, i used a few of free synths: alpha (the main melody line), flying monkey (the noise at the beginning and end) and remedy (the panned sound during the chorus). i really like them and recommend them (they're free).

of love, I like what you did to the bass and of course the singing nice I dont know spanish not sure if I know english. Like this I think the only compliant would be the bass its a bit strong, in the mix besides that a realy great addition to an already great Bud classic! [ Reply to This ]

This is very trance like (not the genre, but the state), almost hypnotic in it's effect on me (maybe it's the theramin like sound). Very cool, original vibe, more pop than experimental to my ears, but that doesn't detract at all from its quality. Great work all. [ Reply to This ]

I'll explain the oeps later. First off, Spanish? Damn fine, I don't know bout the pronunciation, but it sounds sensual and really adds to the song. The production is friggin almost flawless, it is clear and a lot of room left for your...voice...sheez, when will you ever learn ;-). Your voice is so lovely, put it just a tiny bit more in the mix. Ok, I must admit it is like putting salt on snails (Dutch verb for nagging or looking for nails in shallow waters...hahahaha). Ok, Bud is next then. Awesome playing of all the instruments. Not too much, nice build-up and good choice of instruments. He must be a pro or somefin, cos it kind of blew me away. The oeps, zie piece de resistance! I think this tune would do very well in a porn-flick. But a good one, one where it ain't all bout the bumping n grinding and what have you (teabagging and coffeemaking, hahahahahha). I guess, it would go well in the seduction phase (doesn't take more than say, this song). Or just put it on top of a road movie (yet again!). All in all, as you can read, I had a good night cap with this ol' song.

This was simply beautiful and very dreamy to listen to- liked the the spanish singing- although I have relations who are spanish I cannot undertsand a word- but its sounds great and good guitar work
