Description:
This song was inspired by the late, great Harry Nilsson. Especially the song, "You're Breaking My Heart". If you've heard that one, who'll know what I mean.
I'm in no way trying to be outrageous on this number, but just a tad devilish.......we all have that side.

The story is not "really" based on one event, but maybe a combination of events that could have happened to a number of different people.

I got turned on to Harry Nilsson about 3 or 4 years ago,and hadn't realized what a great artist he had been. I think he was quite a writer and singer and not just his popular ones.
"Unfortunately, you sometimes fall victim to your own quirky influences. And that's what holding you back", that's what I was once told, and so be it.

I don't know Harry Nilsson's work. But I like the song, I'm not sure if I should have been, but I was laughing whilst I listened!

i can see the Nillson influence: classic pop hooks, cool production and smart quirky lyrics. love that little guitar slide you slip in every once in awhile. it's a great hook.

this is a great song, and i'm happy it doesn't offend me at all. oh, and the solo is awesome.

It has some of that Nilsson vibe, a quirky pop Beatle/Badfinger feel, but it also has a taste of the Basement Tapes, as well...

You could do worse for touchstones than that...

i used to work at a record store and I bought one of those CD's you know isn't manufactured by any legitimate outfit, but it's #3 so how can you not? Anyway, I bought a Nilsson CD because I like "Without You" and ending up loving the rest more.

ANYWAY, this song is wicked cool. Whimsical, but not Adam Sandler silly. good balance.
