Work in progress? &mdash 02/15/08 - 07:07:10 PM
It has a great vibe.. killer bass line and real smooth guitar sound. Tasty mix, too.

Looking forward to hearing this progress... even if it stands strong as is!

jazzy funky flutosity &mdash 02/17/08 - 12:03:39 PM
This is a great bit of music, and wonderful guitar/bass playing too! The flute is a fun fluttery addition to the music bed, but this is definitely waiting for some soft sultry femme fatale singing sweet nothings over it. I think there are some here on MJ who can help out :-) Welcome!

Great groove &mdash 02/17/08 - 02:59:40 PM
That's real nice work on that bass. Single coils? For some reason, even though I love this sound, I've always had humbuckers. Steinberger for instance. Actually, right now I have a Godin with piezo pickups.

Groovy, man!

actually that is midi bass, drums & keys. i should put some real bass on it to give it the added "human touch". thanx for the comment.

and a real strong arrangement. Could definitely hear real flute or sax cutting loose on this. Fine post in progress.

Enjoy &mdash 02/21/08 - 10:49:05 AM
the funkness of this, like how it starts of out and of course continues. Like how the shaker sounds and so much more. Cool guitar chugga chugga, lead seems spot on. Great improvisation, this pieces seems outstanding to me. Like the use of the flute.

This was a pleasure to listen to.

drums &mdash 02/26/08 - 12:14:43 AM
did u do the drums on a midi keyboard? do you have an extra midi piano or use your mac's keyboard?

answers.... &mdash 02/26/08 - 11:10:44 AM
yes, the drums were done on a keyboard with midi. however, i did layer a drum loop under the midi drums as it seems to give it more movement & depth.
i do have an m-audio 49e keyboard to do midi drums, strings, horns & such.
when i purchased my imac they had a deal to get the the keyboard for an additional $79. at first, i was going to get a bigger, weighted keys keyboard and sell this.......but after using it i felt it met my needs for a keyboard.
