Description:
It was the summer of his 17th year when the Girl From Bombay came to Bailey's Harbor Wisconsin on an exchange program. For three months he gazed, amazed, at her smooth black hair and her chestnut complexion. He fell to sleep dreaming of her musical way of talking. He drowned in the bottomless black pools that were her eyes. She was his first love ... but it was a love that was not to be.

Always appreciate the visit from you and the comments. Hd fun putting this together and posted it quickly. Sometimes I find that is a mistake and regret not working more on a song before I post, but I like this one.

Very &mdash 02/18/08 - 03:41:36 AM
seductive the way it draws us in with the cool organ sounds and then that exotic guitar effect. Great percussion too that you really your own have a way with. It has a nice 'Jazz' feel about it also. Organ sounds remind me of Ethel Smith (do you remember her or are you too young? LOL) Cheers M

This song was not right until I put the organ solo in it. I am not familiar with her work (Ethel Smith) but I have always loved the B3 sound and when I used it here, I knew it was right.

I had &mdash 02/18/08 - 09:32:21 AM
to check out some of your music after the cool stuff you did to my song. You are a true artist.I don't understand how this is done, like which parts are actually played and which are loops, but the result is very impressive!

I just put 'em together like Mozart put his music together ... by stealing other people's riffs and reworking them. I have no real talent for playing anything but appreciate the talent others have and like to see what I can do to take my found gems and reassemble them into a new collage.

monster bass probably should become my middle name ... I always seem to end up spending a lot of time to get the bass right. Glad you liked it.

Bailey's Harbor &mdash 02/29/08 - 10:29:10 AM
Ok, an earlier reference to Oshkosh, now it's Bailey's Harbor (my parents live in Door County) I know it says you hail from Ohio, but I'm starting to get the feeling you're a fellow Wisconsinite at heart. I'm up to visit my folks this weekend, I'll make sure to look for the girl from Bombay. The SONG, as usual is cleanly chaotic and funky as all get out. You use so many sweeping layers and echoes and all that in your songs, as a looper it consistently blows my mind how awesome your take on all the sounds are, and well you sew them together. Keep on rockin, ya cheesehead

About Door county &mdash 03/01/08 - 08:43:57 AM
My mother was born in Racine and for went to door county as a girl and continued to visit there all her life. My parents moved to Sister Bay (hwy ZZ) on a permanent basis several years back. My widowed father still lives there as does my brother. Have a good time up there.
