Description:
For me, sitting down to improvise at the keyboard is more of a journey than anything else. I never know where I'm going, and I never know how it will end. I'm usually just trying to express a feeling or an emotion that, for whatever reason, is best expressed without words.

This started as such an improvisation, but subsequently needed a few minor tweaks of notes and timing corrections. Next, the English horn was added, along with cello and bass.

To me, it sounds a lot like the solitude of winter...

Pros: Beautiful Intro with a Diminuendo Ending, nice touches. This piece is relaxing with a delicate/Mezzo Piano playing that has so many emotions (you always deliver). The background strings worked very well.

Cons: None

Suggestions: I would love for you to write some lyric and sing :)

This speaks to me of a quiet day during a winter thaw - drips from branches, the smell of spring beneath the cool breeze chilled by the snow.

Such a pleasant interlude.

A beautiful first tune, off of MJ's this cold afternoon.

The arrangement was economical, therefore everything was perfectly audible and enjoyable without being cluttered and therefore spoiling the ambiance and mood of the piece.

a solitary feeling. a melancholy spirit on a crisp winters day. The melody was beautiful and delicate. I felt tears welling, but they were of joy and new found hope. remarkable.

Really wonderful piano sound, just for starters. The English horn also sounds played and not programmed... Played as a horn player would play it...

There is no point during this piece when I think, as I often do with New Age music, "Well, that started with an interesting idea and went nowhere with it..." This simply works as a piece of music, and that's on a musical level and on an emotional level.

...minimalist feeling to the arrangement in this beautiful, sad, meditative little song: an economy of expression that paints such a peaceful picture. A very heart-felt performance that never goes beyond the structure of the simplicity you begin with. Beautiful, Cat. This is the kind of contemplative number I will listen to over and over again. Nicely written, nicely performed.
