Description:
I was in the mood to record and play some music, but right now I'm fed up with my regular wanna-be jazz offerings, cus I'm not happy with my recording set up. It's not a stellar lifechanging recording or anything, but I felt the need to play some music and get something out there in the world.
I recorded my weissenborn with the built in mics on my imac and compressed and equalized it in GB.
The song is one I made up. I don't play it much the only other tunes I know on it are a couple ben harper songs.
I got the weissenborn from one of my instructors at a school for building guitars. I saw him building a fancy koa wood weissenborn and offered him whatever he wanted for it (as I was a huge ben harper fan at the time), he said he had a practice model that he wasn't going to sell that he would give me for cost of materials, and I had to make the bridge, nut and install the tuners. Sounded like a good idea to me, so here it is, in all it's glory.

Cool beans man. Great sound and good slide work. I am interested in the technique you used. I love slide work. What tuning, and it sounds like you fingered and used a slide bar at the same time, is that possible?
Thanks again,
Stephen

the tuning is D A D F# A D. the weissenborn sits on your lap and cannot be fretted and i used a typical steel bar from a guitar shop. I play the melody on the highest pitch D string and do the accompaniment on the rest of the strings. I don't use any finger picks either. That's all I know about it. Thanks for listening.
Sweet sound and nice rhythms!
