cut short? &mdash 09/27/04 - 11:13:57 AM
don't know if something went wrong with my computer, but the track cut short of ten minutes, by far, and i never heard a soprano sax, guitar, or vocals. only great drumming groove, great tenor sax, and nice electric piano... [ Reply to This ]

Probably a network surge, the track is there in it's full length. Try
downloading the file - it should work better then streaming.
Thank you for the comment on the part you listened to :{)

cut short? &mdash 09/28/04 - 08:42:11 AM
got it! yes, downloading the file worked. played it in itunes. all the solos are smooth and cool, well played and interesting. couple of first impressions: the tenor sax and piano at the beginning are panned to far left and right for me. i also thought everyone should play the melody together at least once, perhaps with harmonies, as if you are all together and stating a theme as a group. i know several players play together at about 6:45 into it, and this is the best moment in the track, for me. very sweet and mellow, wonderful wine-colored music.

A Hardy Round of Applause!! &mdash 09/27/04 - 02:14:27 PM
to Ilya and all the members of "the band",
What a great collab. effort. I can 'picture' you all gathered together as you jammed and recorded this. At least that is the image that it evokes. This is a real good jazz piece and shows forth, as well as any song so far, the value of GBand and Macjams in bringing together musicians to do what they otherwise could not.

Nice feel! &mdash 09/27/04 - 02:59:57 PM
Nice feel, but a bit boring for a song that long
great playing, though the guitarist could make
the solo more interesting
but waiting for more....
cheers, M. [ Reply to This ]

Bossanova? &mdash 09/27/04 - 05:14:39 PM
Well I never thought I'd leave a comment on a
bossanova song, I wouldn't think it would be fair to
rate something that isn't my style, meaning I didn't
think I would like it. But this is a great showcase to
the multiple talents that appear. I think each one
brought something to the table and to fit everybody
in of course it's ten minutes long. Nice job. [ Reply to This ]

Perfect saxes &mdash 10/01/04 - 11:28:03 AM
Excellent mood. Everything is wonderful, especially the
saxes. And nice effect and playing on the guitar. The
vibes are a little straight and square, not as hip as the
tune wants, I think. I really like the maracas groove. But I
agree with Suzanne that a moment of unison, or grouped
harmonies, would be dramatic and cool and give a sense
of "ensemble-ness" to the track. Maybe even breaking
into a moment of energy and wild group improv, just a
moment, and then a return to the theme. Would give it a
sense of repressed seduction. The vocals are totally cool,
unexpected, and thrilling. Great fade out. [ Reply to This ]
Love Bossa Nova! &mdash 08/04/07 - 11:49:27 PM
Great tune and oh yes I could listen to Bossa Nova for over 10 minutes :) ...How Astrid Gilberto would sound over a silky track like this, one can only imagine and smile. [ Reply to This ]
