Description:
Just had a good beat going after I chopped up some loops and had an idea for some lyrics in the form of yet another poem I wrote many years ago. I substituted a couple of words and moved others around (such as the chorus) so as not to come across as a religious fanatic and so that the words would fit the song better. It's just saying that the bad things in this world are nothing to do with God or any other being.....just the wickedness in Man. Quite a lively beat after my last song.

Verse 1
How can a God with so much love do such things as these?
I’ve heard this said so many times, by those who would ‘believe’,
But Satan rules in People now; on them the blame should lie.
Greed the cause of many wars, when Oh, so many die
Chorus
Jealousy and hate and greed, are the devils tools, and more of this we’re sure to see while in this world he rules.
Verse 2
No matter if we die or how, slowly or in pain.
Surely we’ll be born again if our Love remains.
I’ve heard folk say so many times “I’m afraid to die” but Oh!
How scared? What pain before our birth? Only God could know.

We’re here to gain experience, be tested of our faith. If after all life’s ups and downs, His love we still embrace,
Then dying is a small thing, a token, to compare, with wondrous things we’ll see and learn, when life with Love we share.

They’re loosing out not knowing of the truth. (Tell them brother)
They praise themselves and all their deeds, as though they’ve solved all peoples’ needs,

Some good bass sounds in GB so I had a few to choose from, the basic vocal 'sound', which needed to be different from my normal vocals, is from 'Track Echo' and kept short.The other echo is 'Cycle' from Track Echo, cheers M

Love the way you used the GB loops here. You put together an awesome song with a great message, and delivered it in a way that makes it impossible to not listen all the way through. And the mix seems spot on except for the vocal which I'll explain below.

Like the lyrics and you vocal delivery, although this deaf guy needed a little more volume. It's tuff hearing the words when you going deaf, but everyone else seems to hear you just fine so I know it has to be me having the problem.

heavy duty message here.... but the groove is killer! vox level is ok from here and the delivery is very nice .... could be a Bowie thing in some sense.... very nice production ... back to the words... personally feel we need to talk more about such things..... God gets a bad rap alot of the times I think ... very cool and well laid out tune M... very nice indeed!

I really think you have been such a great addition to MJ. Not only in fun music to hear. But the wisdom that you provide is immense. Love how you get such cool sounds out of the loops. Not sure what instruments you play. I know you sing, but the guitar sounds like your playing. So if it is loops you sure did a good job in working it to fit the tune. I know in your bio that you do accompaniment guitar and you have actually made a living doing music which is great!

I'm pleased too of course that you liked this number. Yes, I do play guitar to accompany myself and a just little keyboard as a filler type of thing, but the guitars on this song are GB loops I'm afraid. The music totally contradicts the message. The music is very groovy, makes my head do some 70's noggin. Very cool drums, but especially the guitar! Yummy. Your voice-fx is surreal.....I need to get my Frank Zappa records out!

glad to see you called in here and ... bizzare is good LOL. Fot the vocal I wanted a cold feel and then towards the end comes the chaos with the repeat echo. The subject is still here with today, as it always has been, hence the modern driving beat/bass accompaniment. ...continues to surprise and amaze me, Maurice! This is such a cool groove. Your control of the beat, the great lead lick at the bridge, your vocals, and the whole concept just absolutely "works." I don't think in these terms and admire you for being able to do so. Very slick mix with such precision in every little detail. What a delight to hear your work...again and again at the highest level to be sure.

This is great. Love the beat - great bass and drum choice. It just boogies along with great style and verve, and the difference between the seriousness of the lyrics and the light-hearted, cool aspect of the music works very well, adding a nice unexpected contrast. Like the use of echo on the voice, and a great vocal performance all round. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.
