Funky Acoustic &mdash 02/23/08 - 02:20:42 PM
With a nasty bass line pushing it along. Hmm...This sounds familiar for some reason. Great job Tom fitting vocals to this and Ralph where ever you may be...nice playing to one of the Mcboy master pieces.

Very &mdash 02/23/08 - 03:43:58 PM
unusual sound to this, sort of Tribal Rock; Tom's smooth vocals sound great against this beaty (beaty?)backdrop. Very original sounds great solos and great to listen to, regards M

playing with fire &mdash 02/23/08 - 05:11:33 PM
But don't get to close to gasoline.

that is one wicked bass line through this. Has a really twisted, slow Bo Diddley groove.

Cool vocal delivery from Tom.

Excellent tag team composition!

Hey now &mdash 02/23/08 - 05:27:48 PM
serious groove yall got going here with that neat vocal right in the middle of it all. Some pleasant little surprises also......like the chord change and that clean guitar out of the blue. So if you need an extra guitar you can just find someone on the street? Guess I better move to town.....I would have to drive 200 miles just to find someone who owns a guitar.Ha!

Great job and oh I love that kik

Sounds very earthy and tribal to me too &mdash 02/23/08 - 05:30:48 PM
Tom's vocal seems to drive this along and the bass is like the engine behind all that energy. The drums have a native american feel to them as well that takes this into uncharted waters.
Ralph's guitar work mixed in with all off the rest makes this a very special piece of music.
Kudos to all of you for a very good, original piece of funky blues.

Smashup &mdash 02/23/08 - 06:22:44 PM
I just want to make this abundantly clear. I am a fan, through and through...
but the vocal tone sounded flat in comparison. The transition between your piece and Ralph starting to play was awkward and stood out like a sore thumb. With his track laid over the continuing rhythm, it sounded like... well that the track was just slapped over with no thought. However, I would like to state that I did enjoy both segments as a separate beat.

mr squirl &mdash 02/24/08 - 12:36:52 AM
i don't know what u were listening too...my solo ends and then tom does a solo rap and then ralph does his solo ...so there is no transition between him n me....i'm glad u liked the music.....listen to it again ...and thanks for the low scores.....peace

vocal tone &mdash 02/24/08 - 12:40:35 AM
excuse me ....but tom and i agreed to do the vocal as a sultry sexy delivery....i'm sorry u felt it was flat.....the vocal performance was just as we planned....thanks but i don't need fans with wooden ears......go away....

Bruised Ego &mdash 04/09/08 - 10:16:18 AM
If you can't take the bad with the good, then you've already got a problem. You'll notice that I stated my point clearly and with good reason-- I don't expect you to like or even agree with it, but I hardly think you need to come at me with the attitude of a spoiled child who's audio painting got criticized a bit negatively.

You can't please everyone-- and if this is the attitude you take towards those that it doesn't appeal to, then I'd really hate to see how you act towards those that are far more harsh in tone than I was. I'm flattered though that you got so defensive so as to respond twice.

Heh &mdash 05/09/08 - 07:48:27 PM
Mr. Squirrel heh, man thats just plain rude in my opinion
Mcboy is really nice guy and top tier musician (you know that)
I think its weird that you question his musical decisions
but also rude and quite hurtful;
At Macjams I'd rather move on to the next song
then offer anything but encouragment (as most of the MJ citizens would agree).
No one here gets paid for this.

Dirty Dancing &mdash 02/23/08 - 06:24:49 PM
Cool vibe on this one. Starts out with a Bo Didley rhythm but then morphs into into it's own thing. Definitely the Funk! With enough alcohol it would probably have me moving around dancing which is something I don't do much of these days! It is fun to hear the contrasting styles on the solos between McBoy and Ralph. Really enjoyed this one.

Hey There &mdash 02/23/08 - 09:30:47 PM
Thanks for the comments guys :>D

The chord progression in this is to die for and at the same time a real challenge. Funky and smooth, I just love how Mcboy brings that Miami flavor in this tune.
This was a learning experience and I can thank Mcboy for being there every step of the way, whatta guy!

Smokin' &mdash 02/24/08 - 02:06:15 AM
This is dirty and kinda sexy - reminds a little of Inxs. The bas line growls nicely through this, and of course great guitars.... subdued but ready to explode

Wondered what &mdash 02/24/08 - 03:04:40 PM
had happened to Tom lately. Now I know - he has graduated.
This is nothing short of brilliance, that transformation is just so effective. The music on this site is just so inspiring and this is at the pinnacle of it all.
Obviously downloaded and will be treasured.
Cheers

...the guits are nice and understated, staying in the pocket...vox kick...

...resonates beautifully and takes me away...very fine...

Fun alright! &mdash 02/24/08 - 05:28:52 PM
Groovy tune... I like that electric acoustic sound that compliments that strategic bass. Yeah... I think that bass really carries this composition. vocals are right on. Great experimentation with tid bits here and there. A nice all around collab. Very original.

INXS feel &mdash 02/24/08 - 10:09:33 PM
What a great vibe here - low key, big groove.

Love the vocal Tom - rhythm section to die for - and the guitarists aren't too bad either. Lovely concept well carried out.

Great groove! &mdash 02/25/08 - 05:15:18 PM
Kinda reminds me of Big Audio Dynamite, and that ain't too shabby...

Nice effect on the vox, T. Really 'listenable' track, would do well on radio and that's a compliment (i.e. not as in radio friendly, but more about letting more people hear it - I'm sure it would sell)

Drum & bass are great - real chunky. Well done guys. One for the collection...

Smooth &mdash 02/26/08 - 06:52:37 PM
This is a really cool, smooth track. I really love the story of how you found Ralph. I just watched La Vie en Rose and it reminds me of Edith Piaf being found singing in the street...okay, on a smaller scale, but STILL. ;-) You're such a true lover of music and supporter of other musicians, McBoy.

I think this one is very original and I particularly like the feeling and production on the vocal. The bass is also very unusual, but everything together just feels right and kind of new and cool.

Dug it.

McWounded Boys &mdash 03/06/08 - 02:50:43 PM
This sounds like Saturday NIght alright.

Tom, you have such a great voice. McBoy, you have the whole groove going on. Ralph, stay out of the sun - I'm sure there's plenty of shade in McBoy's studio.

This song makes me want to drive down to South Beach right now!
