Description:
This is a really tough song for me to perform. I wrote it about my mom whose health has been jeopardized due to her battle against brain, lung and bone cancer. This is a live performance of it at my high school. The show is a fundraiser for teachers in the district that may come across health struggles in the future. I am playing the piano and singing... it was an emotional experience, but one that really put a new edge to my performing.

Lyrics:
Render Me

Verse I: Leave me your voice
In my head as I sleep
Leave me your touch
As the light on the street
Lend me the words
That you spoke as I cried
Leave me a path
I will follow your guide

Chorus: Render me hopeless
So I’ll never have to cry
Render me helpless
So I’ll never say goodbye
Render me hopeless
Render me helpless
Render me loveless
Render me loveless
Render me Painless
Send me your love
Seal it with a kiss
Save a breaking heart
Render me Senseless

Verse II: Send me your eyes
So I can see for myself
Send me your thoughts
As the dust on a shelf
Save me a wish
On a star in the sky
Send me an answer
Never ask why

Chorus

Verse I

Chorus

Great piece here. I envy your talent with both performing and songwriting. It touches me because I know what it's like to involved with the whole cancer thing and 11 years is amazing. Thoughts and prayers with you and your mother. I loved the melody you start out with and I do agree that a studio version of this would be wonderful. Love this piece here, thanks so much for sharing, you've got a lot of talent. Welcome to MJs, take care!

Thanks so much for the feedback... I actually have a studio version, but it's not very clean. I just got a new keyboard for my birthday though so hopefully i'll be able to put it to good use and record a decent version within the month. I really appreciate your comment... let me know if you see anything else that could be improved :)

I wish your mom all the best! Please put some more effort into your studio version. This is a beautiful song and you have a wonderful voice!

This is entrancing as is and if mixed put with some stellar backgrounds would simply rip out the soul!

Thanks for sharing and please keep your spirits up. Laughter is the best medicine! Laugh a few times with your mom if you can. You'll both feel just a little better.

The more I listen to it, the more I like it. Your piano playing and songwriting skills are amazing! You know you need to do a studio version... I know, everyone's already said that.
