This , despite the scary voices, is quite relaxing. I like the song, but am in two minds about the spoken bit - it's very funny, but nice, but turns the song into something different from a ambient piece... which i guess was the intent (hence other).

Makes me smile that you picked up on the twang. Its actually from the Midlands (Dudley to be precise, Coseley to be absolutely precise), so I guess to a real northerner, I would be considered to be a 'soft southern bastard'

I think you are right about the relaxing element here, the last few I have done have had a similar electro lounge type vibe(namio, glitchtronic and testcard - thanks for the title idea on that btw) As far as the scary voices and any other off kilter stuff I do, I just don't seem to be able to stop myself from adding those kinds of elements.

The spoken bit was taken from a recording session I did with a friend of mine named Kari...and again adding spoken word pieces to instrumental tracks is something I find hard to avoid sometimes...perhaps I should start putting the instrumentals up alone as well as the spoken voice additions?

To be honest, I am recently feeling that I am not on the ball with a lot of this stuff in terms of mainstream listeners...recording/mixing/arranging...I seem to be hearing things differently from a lot of people and what is sounding good to me is alien to most other people.

Perhaps its time for a break from this malarky....problem is, I have so many ideas...

.. that you have a unique take on things, and that's in short supply.... the mainstream eventually bends to accept new ideas (whatever 'mainstream is' - every Hollywood star quotes Radiohead as their fav artists, but do they mean The Bends or Kid A?)... so please keep up your alien ways!

I love these kinds of tunes. This one reminds me of Isan (www.myspace.com/isan...I think....). Beautiful! Only suggestion is to put some compression on the bass, it kind of pushed everything away in my speakerset (which truly sucks!). Again, you are one of the best sweet electronic artists of this site. Big up to you Bryn!

I love these kind of twisty electronica pop tunes too. I will definately have to check out Isan...

When you are working with these very sub bass sine frequencies, it can be hard to control them, but I have to say everything sounds pretty well balanced thru my monitors and headphones here...I haven't tested them thru smaller speakers myself.

The mix of the manipulated voices with the sound effects in the melody is like a futuristic-galacto-ambient-mega-jazzy atmosphere. I think the conversation between you and kari could have been a little manipulated to finish it, but its still nice.
