The silver swan who living had no note

More geese than swans now live, more fools than wise

Another beautiful piece!
Great lyric. Wonderful voice. Nice acoustic ambience on it.
And then there's the sweet and mysterious music.

Heavy... &mdash 02/24/08 - 12:40:35 PM
...Duty! Two words I'd never thought I'd use to describe a New Age tune but this is Heavy Freaking Duty! It scared me at times. I imagined myself in the long underground moving walkway in the United terminal at O'Hare international airport. However, I don't think I'd want to hear a song about dying swans right before I get on a plane. Elisabeths voice is absolutely stunning. This took me on a eerily surprising wonderful journey. Thanks!

Very interesting choice of poems. The sonic mood you produce works well with the lyric and Miss Warren's voice.

Thanks

something very unusual and disturbing. Extremely well performed and produced. I think it needs multiple listens and so have downloaded it. Thanks.
Cheers

Schwannnnnnnn...... &mdash 02/24/08 - 04:57:27 PM
I like the choice of lyrics, the nice harmonies, and "Rinca"s singing is exquisite, very soulful. However, with the ethereal feeling of this, I found the sudden electronic synthy blips and bent-beeps and distorted beats/flute that appear between the stanzas to be a little distracting... I think it is because their more modern-sounding texture didn't seem to relate to the rest of the music and the lyrics. My mind could not connect the soulful echoes of the singing and beautiful chimes, to the modern bleeps and gritty beats that appeared in the middle. I feel I am missing an important connection or message with them.

But I love the haunting music and singing here.

Drakonis

Aha! A fool of a goose am I! &mdash 02/24/08 - 05:00:17 PM
So, perhaps the beautiful music is the swan, and the gritty industrial music in the middle represents the geese? :-)

Classy, inventive &mdash 02/24/08 - 09:44:49 PM
Stand out for me is Elisabeth's beautiful vocal, but a close second is the quality of the production (although the bass sounded like it was clipping on my phones). A really innovative structure and outstanding post.

Apart from the bass already mentioned, I'd probably prefer a little less reverb on Elisabeth's voice, but that is a very much a personal thing.

Congratulations- first class!
Neil

i can hug you both for this? this one takes me so far away in time and space, it's pure magic, with the kittie's irresistible voice making the perfect pair with your irresistible music!

A nice female voice. The entire piece reminds me somewhat of 'Songs of Liquid Days', by Phillip Glass. Your music, as always, holds my attention!

deep and moody. &mdash 02/25/08 - 12:24:31 PM
i like to listen to new age music to sleep by on nights when insomnia sets in. this will not be one of those songs. this is downright frightening. great mood, and deep emoting from the vocalist.

Gave me shivers &mdash 02/26/08 - 07:31:40 AM
all the way down my spine. Even my dog perked up when rinca started singing... (actually, I think it was the bells, he has a thing about bells) Beautiful piece, though.

Enjoy &mdash 03/04/08 - 09:25:58 AM
the music you are putting out. Like reading your bio!

Thanks for adding so much to MJ!

interesting approach to the bass and how it lays a deep sound in the background of the tune. Terrific contract to the voice, which sounds very much spot on in tonality!
