Description:
Piano and drums I put together. I'd really like someone to lay some vocals over this but any new ideas are welcome. If someone would like me to lengthen the song that'd be fine, I just thought it would be a bit repetitive without any more elements added. The title is sort of a placeholder so that can change as well. Comments are welcome and appreciated and any who wish to modify this one just send me a message. Hope you enjoy this!

Final Take &mdash 02/24/08 - 10:46:49 PM
Thanks for the comments Feter. I want to hear the final take as well, hopefully someone will drop by and want to lay some vocals on it. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Great foundation. &mdash 02/24/08 - 10:51:03 PM
I've got an intense lyrical tune going through my head for this... I'd totally offer my help with vocals, but I'm slightly unconfident in my ability. Are you looking for lyrics? I'd be glad to help with those. And maybe, if no proficient singer offers, I could take a crack at singing for it. (Once again, I'm unconfident.) Really nice tune. I don't know about the random little doo-dad beats around the middle, but everything else is slick.

Zagar &mdash 02/24/08 - 11:05:06 PM
Thanks Zagar for the comments. I needed something to spice up the drums in the middle (drums are sort of my weak spot when composing). Doodads can always be removed anyhow. If you do wanna do some lyrics that would be great. You can try singing or we can find someone else for the vocals if you're not up for it. Totally up to you. Glad you enjoyed it! I'll go ahead and put this in a message so you don't miss it

Really solid start to a fine tune &mdash 02/27/08 - 09:28:10 PM
nice of you to offer it up as a collab. My only thought is that for a collab - you might want to offer a simpler drum track - the stronger effects could be limiting to a vocal approach. Nice piano work.

Re: Bud &mdash 02/28/08 - 10:26:52 PM
Thanks for listening, Bud. The consensus seems to be that the drums are a bit much. I think after listening to it a couple more times I realize I wanted to make it a bit too interesting, forgetting that with vocals (or other parts) it would definitely fill out the track. I'm going to go back and adjust the drums with a more standard acoustic/pop kit and keep it simple. Thanks for the input, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

cool &mdash 02/28/08 - 08:35:07 AM
Very good piano playing! I like where the bass comes in. I agree with bud though - the drums seem a little strong. Maybe (in response to your idea about lengthening it) there could be a part that comes in later on that... like swells, and gives a stronger feel, then comes back to end the way it does. I don't know... just me rambling. Anyway, very nice.

Thanks Stephen for listening on this one. I agree with you on the drums; I'll be posting a new version of this sometime in the future with more laid-back drums. Hopefully then, someone will drop by and be interested in doing some vocals. Thanks again for listening, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for the comments on this one Becca. I really enjoyed your singing and working with you on Snowflakes (Not My Guide). If you guys stop by here definitely check it out through Becca's page. It's a wonderful song and I think you will enjoy it.

I did get your message and I will respond back later tonight as I'm currently taking a break from cleaning the apartment.

I am also thrilled that we got such a good response on the song as well!

Thanks again for the comments and let me know if you have any ideas for collaborating in the future!

Take care!

This is a lovely bed (if you will) - yes vocals would be great over it, but being an instrumentalist only, I also think of a larger orchestration instead (or maybe also?). However it gets enlarged, this is a beautiful start, I'll be interested to watch for further developments. I really like your music! Thanks

Thanks for the comments Magnatone, Jamorama has actually already recorded vocals and flute on this one and I've updated the drum track be a lot less busy. I'm excited to see how it turns out after he's through with this. Thanks again, I hope you'll stop by for the next installment.
