Keywords:
worship (29)
Description:
I posted an early version of this several months ago and since deleted it. We decided to go mostly acoustic with it. This is our final version for the CD (I think I've said that before...hmm...). It's simple, repetitive (understatement) and short. We almost ditched it, but it might be a good "sing-along" worship tune.

Lyrics:
It's enough, His grace is enough
For me and you
It's enough, His grace is enough
For me and you

Like a river with a source undying
You satisfy the thirst in me
By works alone, I cannot reach You
I'm saved by what I cannot see

Chorus

My guilt is covered by Your mercy
Salvation purchased by Your blood
Deserving of eternal darkness
Receiving nothing but Your love

For in my weakness
Your strength
Is perfect
And if You're with me,
Then who can be against me?
For in my weakness
Your strength
Is perfect
And I am persuaded
That Your power is all I need!

Chorus

Wow! This just punched right out of my speakers and sounds great all around. This is one of the catchiest worship songs I've ever heard and I love the rhythm guitar especially. The lead singer has a great voice, too.

You've got me singing along with the chorus right here in my office chair. Good luck with the CD.

Thanks Lisa! I'm the lead...and backup singer...which is going to pose a problem live, as nobody else in the band really sings. Hopefully the congregation/audience will sing along! Glad you enjoyed it & thanks for giving it a listen.

Well then, very nice work with the vocals, mister.

Thanks! Twern't easy. I still fight harmonies like crazy. Only been working with a vocal coach for 3 months, but it's helping.

More than enough! &mdash 02/26/08 - 12:54:45 AM
As usual your vocal work is very well performed and produced. In my ears the overall sound is leaning a bit to much in the treble and mid department, but still is a note worthy piece of work.Message is great, fine writing and song crafting.Enjoyed!

Blessings,

Daniel, I really appreciate the comments, especially regarding the treble & mids. I'm doing all the mixing and mastering and after months of working on these songs, I get listener fatigue and lose my objectivity. Another musician friend mentioned there may be some sharp vocals in there somewhere (I tend to go sharp often), but I can't find them. Again, listener fatigue. Rambling aside, thanks again for listening & for the comments!

Great chorus! &mdash 02/27/08 - 01:45:31 AM
I absolutely love the chorus on this. Catchy melody with a catchy chord progression performed perfectly. Love the filler vocals in the last chorus especially. The acapella at the end was perfect! i could also hear the tune staring with that acapella line too. Now, because I really like this song I'm gonna be frank with a little Simon Cowell thrown in, the vocals in the choruses are soooo killer that when the verses hit, the vocals seem to suffer by comparison IMHO. If I were producing you guys, I'd have you take another look at the non-chorus areas. While I'm at it, let me tick you off a little more....another thing that is a slight problem for me is in the chorus you say "His grace is enough for me and you", but in the verses you say "...by Your mercy" and "....by Your blood". The "you" in the verse is not the same "you" in the chorus and could be confusing to those less intelligent than me, that's not a huge number of people I know, but it is, after all, the least of these my brothers we need most be concerned about. Now, I'm only saying all of this because I think this song could be quite popular. I can hear this tune in churches and on christian radio every where. I think it could be really huge. so, eliminate every single miniscule possibility that could prevent this tune from blossoming into the huge mega-hit it wants to be.

I don't... &mdash 02/27/08 - 10:48:18 AM
get ticked off easily, so let me ease your mind. I actually welcome comments like yours. Very helpful, actually! Good points, all. You're right - the song actually changes from third person (choruses) to first & second person (verses). Um, oops. Not sure how that slipped past us. It was written a year ago, so we became used to it. We're recording in home studios, so it won't cost us to re-do the verses. Thanks again for the comments - very much appreciated!
