Description
This tune is another one for the FAWM.org challenge. I was trying to see how many clichés I could get into a song but I didn't want to make it just a list. It turns out, clichés have so much meaning trapped in them, it's not that hard to do! I also tried to make the music very cliché... so it's sorta 50's sounding? I don't know...
Oh... please forgive the falsetto!
Oh... please forgive the falsetto!

Lyrics
I know I'm grasping for straws
but I'm not out of the woods
Can't you drop me a line now maybe?
Rome wasn't built in a day
And you've got time on your hands
Please don't wash your hands of me baby?
I hope your light at the end of the tunnel is on for me
I've got my head in the clouds and it's raining -
But don't rain on my parade and cause me misery
Chorus:
I'm not afraid of clichés
Because when push comes to shove
Anything worth saying just goes that way
I'm not afraid of clichés
Because when push comes to shove
You don't hear what I try to convey, no matter what I say
Now I'm out on a limb
And your free as a bird
But please don't do anything that I wouldn't do
I remember a time
When a bird in the hand
Was worth two in the bush - but I have none of you
Every rose has it's thorn and your thorn is stuck in my side
Every dog has his day and I'm barking up the wrong tree,
trying hard to swallow all my pride
Chorus
I'm at the end of my rope,
quickly falling through the cracks of your cold empty heart of stone
They say it's better to have loved and lost then to not love at all,
but I'm not not lost - you've just left me alone
Chorus
but I'm not out of the woods

This song is ... as cute as a bunny : >
We seem to be living in an Age of Cliche, so this is probably a perfect song for the times we find ourselves in.
The music is a perfect fit for the lyrics - nice job.
