Description:
This is my first collaboration on Macjams. Vic was nice enough to help me out with this one. He did a lot of the guitars and drums(and mixing). He also tried to give me an "Instant Karma" sound on the vocals.
I'm always willing to collab if you're interested.
Special thanks to Vic.

Lyrics:
ShortcomingI really couldn’t remember
The streetlight flashing alone
As we were walking back home
It could have been a total adventure
With the door that was unlocked
I think it was 5 o’clock
Oh my mind. Everything worked out fine
I stand and fade away
There was something I couldn’t imagine
Like a tree falling down in a lake
I think it was all a mistake I made
I should have seen it all coming
Everything I wanted to say
Tomorrow, right now and yesterday
Oh it’s wrong. I know I didn’t belong
But, you see that’s just the way I am
All I want for you to do is love me
I really couldn’t remember
The streetlight flashing alone
As we were walking back home
It could have been a total adventure
With the door that was unlocked
I think it was 5 o’clock
Oh my mind. Everything worked out fine
I stand and fade away
All I want for you to do is love me

.. and firsties! Man, this really has the Holman (tm) guitar sound. A really rocking track - the drums are fab, and i love the chorus effect on the vox - works really well Dave. Great collab guys - more please?
lavalamp
I wasn't sure how this was gonna work and I'm quite happy how it turned out.
Thanks ER and who knows, maybe we'll have a go at another in the future.
Dave

Sounds very trippy and 60s to me. You have both done a fine job here, although I feel the vocals get a bit lost in the mix in places, But what do I know about mixing!
Adam
lavalamp
I hope it didn't seem too lost in the mix. Did you listen on headphones or speakers?
Thanks always AJ. You're one of the best!
Dave

2 of my most favorite songwriters come together on this excellent song. I hear 100% of both of you. I thought I was this amazing matchmaker, but I am embarrassed that I never connected the two of you together. There's a real natural seamlessness between your styles in this song. Now I'm thinking Vic's vocals with Dave's vocals could be the next best thing since the MacJams Super Band - The Goodwillys. Please continue to collaborate. You two have just scraped the surface.
Bob
Vic Holman
but we went behind your back. And we didn't even need to use a on-line compatibilty test.
lavalamp
I thought your bookkeeper might have had enough you.
Happy that you could take a little break. Hope to see you around more often soon. Don't stress too much.
Work to live, don't live to work.........and have fun.
LL
lavalamp
Sorry Vic. This was for Bob.
Dave
lavalamp
Look at the comment I gave Vic. That was meant for you.
LL
lavalamp
Look at the comments to Vic.
five_extra_arms
Do you want me to look at the comments you left for Vic or something?
You're repeating yourself, you know.
Thanks for the advice about too much work and not enough Goodwilly.
lavalamp
Every time I wrote to you it went to Vic, I swear. I'm not crazy.
Vic Holman
your not the crazy one. I thinks it's me that should be locked up once in a while.
five_extra_arms
Come on guys, quit your arguing. There's plenty of room in this nice padded living space for both of you AND Vic's extra personalities.
So Dave, what are you in for? 30 to life?
sschedra
I just love collaborations! THis is a good one. I'm feelin real 60's to 2000's ratio on this. Very creative.
Thanks,
Stephen

for letting me join in on the fun and messing around. i really dug the quirky poppiness right off the bat. plus all those cool riffs you have in there. It was right up my alley so I was playing along right off the git-go.
I should mention that Dave has 2 electric guitar tracks on here. and I added another 6. execessive? nah
Tanks again Dave, it was fun and painless.
lavalamp
This song would have just floated around my hard drive for months if it weren't for your help.
You did a professional job. LOVED the guitars and what you did to the vox.
THANKS
Dave

This is some trippy stuff, bass me a blotter of acid and a bong cause this song is pure psychedelia
The guitars are awesome

lavalamp
Trippy is the right word to describe this one. You're right one. But, is that a good thing?
LL

This is excellent. Love the vocals - great vibe (from the singing and the sound) - and love the guitars. Lyrics are cool. Great combination of sounds and terrific mix and sound. Nicely done, guys. Peace. Did I mention that I love the guitars?
lavalamp
Vic paid a lot of attention to the sound of this one, which was really interesting to hear what one of my songs could sound like without my interference.
Thanks brother,

Lennon714
I love the Lennon styled vocal. I also hear a TON of Bowie in this. Balls out swagger with a great touch of 70's glam. Cool tune!
lavalamp
Thanks for the Bowie/Lennon compliment. Vic is responsible for the vocal production. I'll have to ask him how he did that "Instant Karma" thing with my voice. I really dig that.
Thanks,
Dave
