Description:
Not to flog this horse, but...based on some excellent comments I received on the previously uploaded version, I made some changes (eleveneyes, you were spot-on - thanks again!). Hopefully this mix is a little easier on the ears, too. Any additional comments are welcome!

like that singing, who it starts off. Cool bass, like how you have that Seals and Croft vocal texture. Like how the acoustic guitars sound in both parts of the headset.

Thanks for sharing. Like those harmonies!

thanks! &mdash 02/28/08 - 12:42:19 PM
I appreciate you checking it out. I'll admit that harmonies don't come easy for me, so rest assured I struggled with these. I believe it's 6 tracks (melody, melody double, high harmony, low harmony and two echo tracks). They may still not be 100% spot-on, but they're as good as I can get them. For guys in our 40's, we can't hide our 70's/'80's influences.

Holy wow, that voice track right in the beginning caught me right away. I had changed windows to look at something and I almost jumped outta my seat. Great start and wonderful lyrics here. I absolutely love the driving bass line...something I don't see in a lot of mainstream stuff nowadays. The acoustic guitars are wonderful and the electric part flows excellently along with it. Great job here, I haven't heard the previous version, but this one is simply splendid. Thanks for sharing.

Also, I would say, in my opinion, that the vocals are spot on.

Good song brah, and the mix is just spot on. really good tune on all levels. this thing's not letting me vote but if I could your over all would be a 10, and I rarely give a ten.

geesh &mdash 02/29/08 - 12:29:05 AM
you guys are too kind. How'd you know today's my birthday?! Yep, 41, going on 31. Don't want to get all supernatural on you, but just the fact that I can sing halfway decent in a few months' time is a miracle, since about a year ago I was pretty horrendous. Am also learning to play bass while singing lead pretty quickly, to which I credit lots of prayer and God's grace. I value your opinions & don't expect nothing but accolades, but I do appreciate the kind words & your time to check out the song. Blessings, folks!

wow Colin! &mdash 02/29/08 - 12:46:12 AM
What a start! Nice mix, love the bass in particular, but everything works just right. Big spread across the sound stage - maybe a little hot in the final miz, maybe it's the impact of the bass.
Amazing vocals - congratulations!
Neil
