Description:
Unlocking hearts tells the story of a young boy who has an undying curiosity for other worlds. The piece has many sections, which represent his travels, trials and the worlds themselves. Stylistically speaking the piece goes in all sorts of directions, I think there’s a little something for everyone.

“Thinking of you, wherever you are.
We pray for our sorrows to end,
and hope that our hearts will blend.
Now I will step forward to realize this wish.
And who knows:
starting a new journey may not so hard
or maybe it has already begun.
There are many worlds,
but they share the same sky-
one sky, one destiny.”

very nice &mdash 02/29/08 - 08:48:17 AM
There are many sections and you are right, something for everyone. You are very creative and I enjoyed your music very much. Great job. You puuled me in - in the beginning with the simple beauty of the piano and ended with the sounding of the drums, with magic in the middle. Enjoyed!

Thanks! &mdash 03/03/08 - 10:21:11 PM
Thanks a lot. I like to think of it as sort of a musical grab bag. I wanted to keep the listener guessing where the song would go next. Thanks for listening!

Very good &mdash 03/01/08 - 01:24:59 PM
Yes, quite cinematic. Tell us more about your process for creating your soundtracks. How much is real instruments? MIDI keyboard? Stock loops?

From you bio, I see that you play bass, clarinet and piano. But your fort is violin. Keep up the good work. You have a good sense of dramatic dynamics and threading.

Nothing Too Technical &mdash 03/03/08 - 10:18:24 PM
All of the instruments are virtual. I play them through my Casio Priva (Which I use as my midi controller) and I run it though my samples in FL studio. Im glad you enjoyed it.

Great nature textures to give this tune a nice start &mdash 03/02/08 - 09:40:03 PM
Like the sorrowful music feel. Nice piano, guitar arpegs, cool driving drums. But you really weave a nice fantasy sound.

Again I really enjoy how you weave nature with reality musically!

Nice classical as well!

I was worried that the nature atmospheres might take away from the piece rather than add to it. I'm glad you thought they blended well.

Great themes &mdash 03/03/08 - 06:05:15 PM
You are really good at making themes! You seem just right for the film genre! I was really impressed by this. Great stuff! I look forward to hearing more of your music.

That means a lot. Themes are definitely something I try to develop in my soundtracks though I still have a lot to learn about about expanding those musical ideas.

Really great &mdash 03/09/08 - 06:08:18 AM
I liked this piece a lot. It did have a bit of everything! The piano in the beginning is very nice, and violins which start at around 3:38 are great. I feel like you could take each section, and create longer songs for each of them, but I think they each fit together nicely; especially for a film- change of scene etc. I also agree, the nature atmospheres worked well; they really enhanced the mood created by the music. I look forward to hearing more of your music. I'm going to browse more of it now...
