Thanks Jakob .. &mdash 03/01/08 - 02:16:08 AM

... at least I got the fanfare-ish effect right... if it fizzled out like a deflating balloon .. a kinda of reverse fanfare .. hmm .. reminds me .. I like the fanfare in Shrek 2 .. that goes into the Hawaii-5-O theme .. lol.

Bloody hell &mdash 02/29/08 - 10:35:29 AM
.... are you mellowing in your old age? You're showing a helluva range these days alan - here's me thinking you just liked to rock!

Lovely piece

Too kind Andreas .. &mdash 03/01/08 - 02:23:27 AM

.. I promise I will only occassionally run into your musical 'turf' so to speak :o) ... and even then it will be analogeous to a streaker...or a drive-by altercation ..er.. orchestration :o)

Thanks for the listen...and I'm glad you enjoyed it .. even if it was just comical .. I'm surprised you didn't take it apart to be honest.

Thanks Eagle_1 &mdash 03/01/08 - 02:33:46 AM

.. short wasn't an issue here ..it was a requirement..see thread link in description...although I went <10s than <20s...20 seemed to long to me for the purpose... I wouldn't
want to wait 20s on some clicks on a webpage just for the music to play...

I just used loops for cymbal percussion only.. all the rest is played midi stuff (with a bit of pencil tooling of course).. using JP4 sounds: Xtra String Trill2, Xtra French Horn, Xtra Timpani, Glockenspiel, Tuba (Legato & Staccato), Oboe and Trumpets .. and a touch of the Boldt choir.

Metal prelude? &mdash 03/01/08 - 02:00:41 AM

really? lol .. on reflection and listening with 'different ears' on .. I would say it's a kinda of disnae .. I mean Disney .. crossed with some TV news programme report .. lol..
hmm .. don't think I'm gonna win with this... did you read the forum thread? (link is in the song description)... ah well, it was fun trying. :)

Thanks for the listen.

I'm waiting for the dancers and flame throwers to make their entrance. Nice fanfare, Alan.

cool intro &mdash 03/01/08 - 04:02:37 PM
i hear this as an intro to a funk/dance track a la 70's style, real cool, like it.

sorry I got to this so late - I heard it on the thread, so impressed with how you put this together so quickly and made to order. I really love all the music of yours I've heard so far - thanks

Hooray for Hollywood &mdash 03/11/08 - 07:29:53 PM
This is great! It sounds very moviesque. I like the dissonance in the beginning. Very professional sounding.
It's fun to see everyone's take on the fanfare.

hahahaha &mdash 03/13/08 - 06:39:30 AM
I love the long intermingling of the strings and the piano . Also the vocalast althovery sparse had a profound effect on the whole piece .....: ) cool fanfare !

Wonderfully brief &mdash 03/13/08 - 03:06:26 PM
This is the second track in succession I've heard on Macjams today that clocks in at under 20 seconds - if this is a trend then it's a good one.
Brevity is cool.

Sounds some fancy, it does! &mdash 04/19/08 - 05:43:38 AM
I dunno, sounds pretty fancy to me! And not particularly conventional, but very good! Any chance you might take this idea and extend it? I really, REALLY like it.
