Lyrics:
MONDAY BLUES
By©Bernardo Barreto

Morning comes along
With a thousand voices in my head
I feel oh so heavy
I can hardly get out of my bed.

The coffee waits for me
In the other room
My wife she went to work
And I'm looking for a spoon.

I'd wish she could bring the ocean
To my lonely room
I'd wish she could bring the stars
To the kitchen and the sun to my brain.

Monday, Monday
Two packs of Marlboros
And an some dirty magazines
Monday, Monday
A picture of the Pope
And my old blue jeans.

(solo)

The coffee waits for me
In the other room
My wife she went to work
And I'm looking for a spoon.

I'd wish she could bring the ocean
To my lonely room
I'd wish she could bring the stars
To the kitchen and the sun to my brain.

Monday, Monday
Two packs of Marlboros
And an some dirty magazines
Monday, Monday
A picture of the Pope
And my old blue jeans.

Bernardo, this Blues is absolutely cool and fascinating, great guitars by Lupi. Super jam. And: VERY impressive artwork. I enjoy that the pictures for artwork are displayed bigger here than on icomp. There are so many facettes in your artwork. i absolutely dig it. Music&Lyrics&Art: All the stars :-) Kudos to you!!
(You gave it up with the ratings here, didn't you?)

Monday morning &mdash 03/01/08 - 02:35:04 PM
Love that dusty vox! The Mamas and the Papas couldn't trust that day...Monday. You two bring a fresh Bluesy interpretation to the first morning of the work week. Very cool. Talent resides here. And a very fine painting, to boot!

The raw Muddy and Johnny Lee &mdash 03/02/08 - 09:53:55 AM
Hooker is all over this tune. I like the plain truth here. Cool slide work, Lou. And the artwork is what I will call reaallll Americana art. You can't get more American than Muddy and Coca Cola.

Thanks... &mdash 03/02/08 - 02:53:39 PM
Yes, definitely Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker are a big inspiration for this kind of blues. The painting is one of many tributes to Muddy I have. The images are photographs enlarged and printed on rice paper and then pasted on board.
I do enjoy working on different medias and music and writing are totally part of this thread.
I'm glad I can share some of it here.

I like this song. I must say that you sound a little like Tom Petty singing the blues!!! some harmonica would also work perfect in this song!!!
