Description:
A song about my parents love and my Dad's perspective as he began to get older. We used to go out to dinner every week when he started getting older and after a few drinks he began getting sentimental and started giving me advise. This is my interpretation of some of those discussions. The chorus has shadow backing vocals to provide continued insight.

Lyrics:
Love Song
Words and Music By Sean C. O’Malley @ 2006

We’ve been on our own since ‘45 and we walked right through a war.
Been with many people, who we never really cared for.
The lines on our face, no disgrace, they sure could tell the tale
Of a man and a women who’ve walked for miles and whose lives are now for sale

Many lives we’ve lived to see, many have said goodbye
I believe that when we’re living here it’s a chore to survive
We’ve walked a million miles, we’re entitled to survive
So listen to my tale, I’ve got nothing left to hide
Chorus
The faded signs that led us here
(Body, soul one in the same, skin is wet from the pouring rain)
Laughter and joy are now sincere
(Laughter in the summer time, what I did was always right)
It seemed to come on like a rush
(I found out what I was looking for, always seemed I wanted more)
I simply needed someone to give a push
(It really not to hard to see, I am her and she is me)
The same can be said for you

Can’t criticize my bleeding heart, when love is coming down
The constant ring inside my head, I can’t wait to hear her sound
Long I ride into the night, the headlights lead my way
Even with this heavy head, through the thick black night I pray

This bleeding heart can mend itself, it always has and will
Take one look around this house, time is standing still
We’ve walked a million miles, we’re entitled to survive
So listen to my tale, I’ve got nothing left to hide
(CHORUS)

You spend many years &mdash 03/04/08 - 07:08:12 PM
working with a musician and you think you know him. I know the talent well: the trademark big voice, beautiful harmonies, excellent jangly guitars, that's all here on display. What I never knew was the depth of your introspection in your lyrics here. Way to lay it down.

Really nice. &mdash 03/04/08 - 08:43:03 PM

Hi what a lovely way to write and sing a love song
this is very creative and was really enjoyable to listen to. I bet this song brought a smile to your parents faces and also made them both feel very proud of you. You sang it really well and the music was just fine also. Thank you for sharing.

Peace
Dee.

Great lyrics &mdash 03/05/08 - 06:51:23 AM
Very strong vocals- really liked the chorus with the second level background vocals... two choruses for the price of one... talk about value!

Sounded like the file you uploaded was at a lower bit rate (or maybe my ears are getting old)... I can understand if it's for commercial purposes... I'd prefer a higher quality upload with d/l's downloaded... only because this is such a good song I want to hear it in the best way possible... if I'm wrong I apologize... not the first time I've made a fool of myself!

Seriously, this is a terrific song!

How does one nominate a song for the "picks"? I want to nominate this one for the user picks! I can't get it out of my head! Amazing!

Not sure...I'm still learning as I go. Sorry, maybe someone else has the answer.

It's a cumulative thing - the more people that nominate your song as a favourite, the higher up the list you go.

Like the whole combination of instruments and singin. Nice driving type tune with really intune singing. Like the backup singing as well.

Way go go

Still blows me away... &mdash 03/08/08 - 07:58:35 AM
Sean,

I'm poking this song whenever I can. For some reason it really gets me and I love it today as much as I did the first day I hear it.

Your vocals are so strong. If there is one thing I would like to hear is to have the shadow backing vocals in a female voice... Again yours is so strong... but the song is about a man and a woman... It seems like having a female sing the shadows would just take this to the out limit!

Again... I can't wait for your next masterpiece.

Very nice! &mdash 03/10/08 - 11:57:32 PM
Your vocals are perfect for this Sean, and the song itself is great - really enjoying it. Like the bass, but would like to hear more variation in the drum track - lots of room for accents in there. The rhythm guitar sounds almost too muffled - maybe it's too much electric and not enough acoustic - can't really pick it. Just sounds too busy in the rhythm guitar parts.
Good one!
