Description
From "Mood Swings," a CD of entirely original music produced with Apple's GarageBand software. Sobek is independent recording artist from West Chester, Pa. After years playing original music in groups in the Baltimore area, he now focuses more on studio work. His style ranges from folk-rock, to hard rock to electronic. "New technologies have opened many doors for musicians," he says, "but nothing is more important than music that is memorable, lyrics that affect your soul, beats that make your feet move and melodies that make you smile."

Lyrics
Queen City lonely
In the middle of the night
Trying not to be the only
Man without a light
I wrote the book on hockey
And the snow was coming down
I smashed myself at concrete
There was ice on the ground

There's a fear, when you follow
The lonely path that I have walked
Are you feeling fine?
Well, I'm not perfect
But I don't have to be

It's a gray and dusky morning
Flash forward one year
I've had a change of venue
But I still feel this fear
I have one too many girlfriends
And the snow is coming down
In my dreams in Cheektowaga
There was ice on the ground

There's a fear, when you follow
The lonely path that I have walked
Are you feeling fine?
Well, I'm not perfect
But I don't have to be

And then I dream I'm in Chicago
With the snow on Soldier Field
We were drunk up in the Hancock
But my mind was somewhere else
Have you ever been to Nebraska?
Now there's a place for snow
The wind blows and chills your bones
Until you miss your Queen City home

There's a fear, when you follow
The lonely path that I have walked
Are you feeling fine?
Well, I'm not perfect
But I don't have to be

I missed her in the morning
But I can hear the rain fall, in Buffalo
Standing sentry on the edge of the world
Back there, in Buffalo
Say goodbye to all of my friends
But I'll be back here, in Buffalo

Nice vocals
you have an excellent voice. Really nice chorus; great
hook sound, nice electric guitar effects. Nice outro, with
the repeated bass note, elec guitar groove, etc. The GB
MIDI acoustic guitar work toward the beginning is a little
thin. But this is a solid tune. Good rhythmic lyrics. Nice
work.

Well versed
You bring together a lot of skill in this piece. Great lyrics,
very able singing, decent guitar playing, good sound
texture/landscape changes, technically well-mixed.
Congratulations on accomplishing so much with
GarageBand. With results like this, who needs to upgrade
to Logic Pro? Not what Apple was hoping for!
