Description:
Salvia Divinorum is a plant i used to grow, and the effects of which when it is taken i have tried to describe in this song.
Salvia divinorum has a long continuing tradition of use as an entheogen by indigenous Mazatec shamans, who use it to facilitate visionary states of consciousness during spiritual healing sessions.
I feel i could never do the experience justice with words or sounds, but i have tried to put it into a song none the less.
The Lyrics, "what is happening to me?" are fairly self explanatory. most people feel a sence of something taking over them and a loss of control, i have found going with it is the only sensible thing to do, as if you try fight it, you will loose.
My experiences have had a common theme of time going like a stop-motion animation film, bit like the cure video 'end of the world'. So this is the reason for the scratchy bitty clicky sounds. it is quite a hypnotic experience so the track is very repetitive, but sometimes things can come up on you by surprise, this is represented in the track when it all goes a little mad and spikey around about the 2.40 min mark.
The track sounds better and you can make out more detail when i listen in garageband than when i put it in to itunes or macjams. Anyone got any advice about quality?
Any way i have been rambling on for too long. The song is a lot less interesting than the experience.

its a shaker slowed to 40bpm then saved in the loops library and added to the track at the higher tempo (can't remember what the tempo of the rest of the track is)

is a really cool idea to slow it down and then speed it up again. i'm too lazy for that but may do a spin off on your idea (loading the shaker into a granular synth and time stretching it). thanks for the idea.
This is awesome, I love what it does to me with out Salvia Divinorum. I am a fan.

Thanks, I am glad you liked it! I like your mantra on your page, you reminded me of my time in India, which was a very special time for me. I would love to hear more, mabey you could do a Rama mantra!
