Description:
LOVE SONG(WHAT ELSE)ABOUT FINDING LOVE APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK AND ADVICE THIS WAS AN EARLY SONG THAT I WILL REDO ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME

Lyrics:
Right on Time (Music and Lyrics by Craig Halkett)

I was lonesome for a long time
And quite content to let things be
But you came along and turned my world around
Now you mean everything to me

Right on time, you opened up my sad heart
Right on time, you set my spirit free
Right on time, you put me back together
Right on time, you helped me see

I was on a road to nowhere
Lost touch with reality
Then you smiled at me and unlocked this old heart
And I’m so glad you found the key

Right on time, you gave my life some meaning
Right on time, you must have heard my plea
Right on time, again love I was feeling
Right on time, you came to me

You’d be by my side forever
And that’s the way it’s gonna be
For when I look and see that smile you’re smiling now
I know that smile is just for me

Right on time, you filled my life with laughter
Right on time, you shared your dreams with me
Right on time, we’ll be happy ever after
Right on time, just wait and see

Right on time, you opened up my sad heart
Right on time, you set my spirit free
Right on time, you put me back together
Right on time, you helped me see

classic country with &mdash 03/06/08 - 04:43:20 PM
a nice playin'-pickin' guitar and a great vox...i would made the reverb a tad thinner with the vox...you dont need it with such a good voice...Enjoyed it.

How could I resist? &mdash 03/06/08 - 08:10:46 PM
When I have my own song with the same title (quite different though.).

This is a very, very nice song... I like how you kept the guitar nice and simple (very nice tone, too) and how you alternated lines with background vocals. Vocal delivery was perfect for the tone of the song... very sincere. I love the simplicity of this!

This would have fit well in the folk section I think. An Excellent love song in any genre however... well done!

Excellent Song writing Craig &mdash 03/06/08 - 08:50:18 PM
Nice simple guitar accompaniment that works well to show off the song, which is very well written.

Thanks for sharing this one Craig.

Right on time? &mdash 03/31/08 - 02:57:43 PM
I agree with one reviewer's observation that this would do well in the folk category. To me, the song feels very dated, both musically and lyrically. '60's folk music, to my ear (not that there is anything wrong with that!).

The production is solid, vox are too. Some of the lyrical phrases are perhaps a bit worn ("happy ever after", "set my spirit free", "found the key").

To my way of thinking, the first line of a song needs to compel the listener to continue on ... it should have real impact and be "on point with the title" and I'm not sure we have that here. I personally didn't feel that the first line and/or first verse really stood out and told me something truly interesting.

I would strive to find a unique way to say the same things you are saying here. I think the way you are saying it has been done many times before.

All that said, it does have a nice, mellow, relaxing quality to it.
