Description
Here's yet another tune written for Feb. Album Writing Month...I actually managed to write 14 songs to complete the challenge, though I couldn't have done it without help from my buddy Mark with whom I wrote a few tunes. Right now I'm just trying to fix up all the demos.
This tune came from a title offered up by my sister-in-law, however she originally suggested "3 Monsters" in reference to my 3 kids. But I couldn't do that to 'em... it's bad enough I'm their dad! Anyway... my buddy Mark wrote this tune with me, just about on the fly. The demo here is very basic, as most of them will be if I can get them done this week/weekend! After listening to this a few times... I think it has potential and I looking forward to coming back to this one.
I wanted to have my kids sing the last chorus... and I may still do that but at the time of my recording, they were sleeping!

Lyrics
Peeking under my bed
I hope you're all in my head -
in my imagination
Saw you on the TV
When you looked straight at me
I changed the station
Pack your bags, leave me alone
This sleep-over's through
Those stinky feet can go somewhere else
next door will do
I'm not scared of you anymore
Go back to the cave you lived in before
Your scaring days are through
'cause I'm not afraid of you - you scary monster
Lying here counting sheep
trying to get some sleep
But you won't let me
My closet isn't your flat
You look and smell like a rat
I want you gone when I count to three
I called a cab, it's time to go
go on, get out of here
Forget to write and don't call me,
I'll call you - now disappear
I'm not scared of you anymore
Go back to the cave you lived in before
Your scaring days are through
'cause I'm not afraid of you - you scary monster
I hope you're all in my head -
in my imagination
Saw you on the TV
When you looked straight at me

I dig the driving rhythm guitar and drum entrance, really nice demo arrangement. I used to head my eyes when the green Wicked Witch of the West laughed in the crystal ball in the scene from Wizard of Oz when Dorothy is incarcerated in the witch's castle. I also recall the Bill Cosby routine when his dad tells him there are poisonous snakes under his bad and that he should stay in bed while they are out.
I dig the chorus. I hope you can develop it, draw out the repeat and fade in the end. Great start and a very fun tune.
By the way, what is "Feb Album Writing Month"?
