Description:
After some digging, I found another analog effort done by our HS band. This was as the title suggest our "second" recorded song after "Illinoi".

I play the main guitar (rythm). Wade plays the lead. Roger does the acoustic guitar in the mid section. Colin is vocals (double tracked). Mike on drums and Jeff on bass.

This was done on a 4 track Dokoder with an 8 track mixer.

This song was the result of an effort my Roger and myself. Roger wrote the lyrics. I wrote the lead in/exit section. We pieced them together and came up with this result.

It gets busy in places but hey we were in high school and having fun!

Lyrics:
I'll have to put them in later

Hardware:
Guitars, electric and acoustic, drums, mics, dokoder 4 track, mixer and us

Thanks so much. We were just but high school kids... maybe secretly hoping an agent was just outside the door.

The drummer Mike is great. He's still playing and still as good as ever. I was proud of the "walking guitar" as my friend used to call it.

Thanks again.

Hey Mark! &mdash 03/14/08 - 06:48:37 PM
This is actually really cool. You shouldn't down play it. It just a bit EQed. Run it through GB. Then play around with the EQ. Like the lead and the song all together.

You had a nice little band there.

Like this a lot.

Good idea! &mdash 03/16/08 - 09:27:09 AM
That is something I have no experience with... using GB or logic 8 express to EQ a previous mp3...

Yet another thing to learn and play with! Thanks LL!!!

Way cool for a bunch of kids &mdash 03/16/08 - 11:17:46 AM
Not bad for a bunch of pro's. Pretty cool track Mark, especially considering it's done on a 4 track. Sound good man. Good arranging and dynamics in it.

Tweaking it in GB is a good idea on several levels. One is that when you're done with it it will sound better (hopefully), and the other is you will have learned a new and useful skill to take to the next project. So my advice is to make a copy to work on and have fun tweaking to your hearts content. Couldn't hurt, ya know what I mean.

Thanks for sharing this little gem Mark, sound pretty good to me.

very nice! &mdash 03/16/08 - 03:02:43 PM
It's hard to believe that you guys were only in high school! The recording sounds decent in it's own right, but the amount of talent you guys demonstrate is mind-blowing!

this is pretty impressive work for a high school effort. My garage band sure never did this kind of stuff, with such a good sound no less! Of course, you are from Fort Collins, where everything is wonderful, even when it's at its worst.

Encore,
