Description:
a sunn o))) remix of a pornography leftover

Lyrics:
She blinks and she thinks she knows what’s in my mind
There she goes through my nose and she is gonna find
A lonely frozen sea that’s gonna blind her eyes
But if by chance she can dance this is a paradise

Hyperboreal
Hyperboreal
Hyperboreal
Hyperboreal

Cockagne land blubberland made of ice fields and floe
Ruined cities, memories moving like drifting snow
I wouldn’t be surprised if you’d died from the cold
But your body, baby, it will never grow old

Hyperboreal
Hyperboreal
Hyperboreal
Hyperboreal

Oh For the kind of the stuff
that my dreams are made of
It’s never dark enough
let’s turn the heavens off
Northern lights
polar star
However bright
they are
they are light
pollution
imperfection
of night

Hyperboreal
Hyperboreal

CJ - man, this is over the top in so many ways.

Where to begin? I'll begin with the download and a few more loud listens.

(15 minutes later - sweating) This is one of the few songs where you "sing". As you know, I'm the President of the Hamlet Machines Fan Club - Southeastern Northern Hemisphere Division, so I'm always impressed with your vocal treatments. This one is a gem. The howling vocals are eerie and perfect.

2:45 into it (as Ridd mentioned) the heavy 154 Orchestra kicks in and drills a new hole in my head. Brentford has punished us again.

CJ - this land of ice fields and ruined cities, etc.... great imagery with plenty of space for interpretation. The music absolutely intensifies your poetry, or is it your poetry that intensifies the music?

Brentford &mdash 03/06/08 - 01:10:20 PM
has punished us by doing nuthin' on that one. It all comes from my sick mind and clumsy fingers.

Except I stole your art again.

Thank you, Mr President.

Hamlet Machines - New Guitar Lineup &mdash 03/06/08 - 01:29:21 PM
I remember now that this song was the one you sent to Brentford and he didn't want to send it back. You probably frightened him. Excellent playing with your clumsy fingers. I wish I could play this clumsy.

Did your new bass arrive yet?

hadn't much time to make it a better hamlet machine song, and I was in a hurry to finish.

I'll get my bass from the post office tomorrow as I'll post your copy of the album.

You have quite a unique style, brother. A bunch of creepy British kids sing Hyperboreal along with you would be the icing on the cake.
Love the psychedelic guitars towards the end.

Really mind activating.

It's all about the icing. I'm glad you found a cake beneath.

That's heavy - was thinking of going to bed - but I think I'd better have a stiff scotch instead now.
This is surreally great. Like the Hendrix finish. Going for my second listen now - if I don't return phone an ambulance.
Cheers

... you get better each post - this is a drark, pounding nightmare of a track, with a really memorable melody. Big beat, nasty guitars, swirling synths - this is the soundtrack to my miserable youth.

outstanding.

You don't know how lucky you are. The soundtrack to my miserable youth was "too shy " by kajagoogoo.

I feel like ive just gotten off a roller coaster, an Industrialized nightmare of sound
the chorus really does it for me, the keyboards in the chorus remind me of a choir, damn wish you had enough in the budget for a real choir... that wouldve been historic, lovely song here CJ

"Absolute Sonic Rape" by Aural Onslaught. Sounds like my next project is taking shape...

The budget should be the same, though.

I LOVE it.

I won't add anything to what's been said of your great performance!

Your writing is intriguing, and your voice sounds lower and warmer and somehow appropriate, as it is, to this song of iciness.

"blind her eyes" , yes, except it doesn't rhyme and I had written "make her blind." Sometimes you don't pay attention when you sing.

for the vox, i think may have struck or tweaked the right setting for once.

Hyperboreal Revisited &mdash 09/02/08 - 08:17:50 AM
After hear ridd's fantastic version of this song, I had to come back to the original and give it another listen.

I'm still haunted by it.

Cool &mdash 09/02/08 - 10:52:39 AM
Just been listening to rsorenson's take on this and had to come check out the original. A great song, and very cool performance. Has a kind of Joy Division vibe to my ears. Great vocal (and love the backing vocals, too), and love the guitar. The lyrics on this are excellent, filled with brilliant imagery. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.
