Description:
It's time to get sillious! This is from davisamerica2; the one with no class. This is my ugly child that only a parent could love. Mozart once wrote a short piece called a "Musical Joke" to trip up a friend of his who played a horn in the orchestra. He deliberately wrote the horn piece in the wrong key. That rascal! Well, I probably won't receive the forgiveness Mozart did, but here we have a guitar that refuses to play bar chords in tune (and it's a bad influence on the keys as well, which suffer from insecurity). This one is strictly for your amusement. Hope you enjoy.

Lyrics:
Brought up in the cornfields
Not knowin’ what love is
Do I have to tell you
What a shock it could be
Watching all the cows play
While I’m out bailing hay
Daddy never told me
Where I come from
Now I’m just waitin’ on love bayyyybe

Teacher never liked me
I fell from the learnin’ tree
I was too busy teasin’ girls
And pullin’ their hair
She kept me after school but
It never did me no good
She can’t keep my ‘tention
Like the girls do
Now I’m just waitin’ on love bayyybe

Now in the night, the sun don’t shine
And the moon refuses to climb
I’m layin’ there just waitin’ on love
Daddy says that I’m just a boy
Keep up the studies, remember your chores
But how can I when I’m needin’ the love?

Finally turnin’ eighteen, Uncle Sam needs me
A “few good men” he wants
I’m in uniform
My buddy in the next bunk
Says I gotta get some funk
There’s a lady in the next town
Waitin’ on me
And I’m just waitin’ on her babe
It’s finally comin’ my way bayyybe

Now in the night, the sun don’t shine
And the moon refuses to climb
I’m layin’ there just waitin’ on love
Captain says that I’m just a boy
Keep your head down, remember the war
But how can I when I’m needin’ the love?

I met the pretty lady at the VA Café
She says with a grin
“Watcha’ havin’ today?”
With Valentino eyes
I say “Number 3 with fries,
a cold buttermilk
and some some love on the side
Now I’m just waitin’ on love, babe
It’s finally comin’ my way, bayyybe

I’m just waitin’ on love!

This one could use some tidying up, as you can see. It's been around some and is probably due a facelift.

very smirky lyrics, had me waitin' on love all the way through... wonderful singing and great work on the funky guitar & keys, despite the Fisher Price mixing console... but you had the easy bake oven up to 11 on this, it was a super kickin' tune, and did I mention the great singing?
ttfn,
Drakonis

Fisher Price is a &mdash 03/10/08 - 09:28:53 PM
good description of the mix. But yeah, I wanted this one to move; fast and furious. Thanks for listening Drak, and for the kind words. Terry

I suppose it's about &mdash 03/10/08 - 09:43:14 PM
a country boy leaving the farm and seeing the world. I used to work with someone like this. He left a family of 10 and moved into a community of 100,000. He thought he was on a different planet. I guess this is a caricature of that character. Glad you liked it. I can't sing it with a straight face.

I appreciate the kind words. Yeah the bridge may have rescued it from the generic abyss. It was fun to play. I'm glad it was fun to listen to. Terry

that guitar... &mdash 03/10/08 - 05:11:14 PM
...Is fantabulous, this bob Dylanesque music wise but the words and voclas turn it out in such a different way, I am hearing Tom Waits in your vocals, but again different, cool post!

From its inception, I've been trying to sing this with a straight face. Not that it's necessary, I just wanted to see if it can be done. It can't. I'm glad you like it. Thank you for your comments.

A Crappy Recording &mdash 04/07/08 - 05:46:20 PM
Sounds like it was recorded in a garage... inside a garage. LOL

But this tune rocks, Terry.

Some great riffin' & rockin' going on in here... Roll Over, Chuck Berry.

Make this a Do-Over project --- Really!

You're right. It's an old recording. Too much stuff in my garage though, must have been done under my carport. I put lots of stuff in it, and have been putting off a re-do, but enjoy it, so it might be worth the effort. Will probably take your advice and do-over. Thanks for listening. Terry

Another fun song. My friends and I like to jam on this early when we have the strength. Lots of energy required. Glad to see it pay off, and is something you enjoy. Terry
