musings on death
Lyrics:
its snowing outside, so cold that it stingsthe drunks down in the lobby are laughing like kings
up to the fifth floor I knew this time will be the last
sister answered the door said he's going fast
he must be more than half the way gone
his botlle of morphine helping him on
so sick and grey, hard to see him that way
even though i didn't knew him well
i saw flowers of death in his eyes
i would ask him what he sees is there another side
but he's already said goodbye
i can see the flowers of death in his eyes
his sister's thinking about the trip back home,
theres gonna be a lot of things for her to do
there's a new mattress in the hall that he's never gonna use
maybe there's someone that i could give it to
he can't talk anymore so i'll sit here for a while
i'll be cut down one day, too maybe soon. its hard to tell
\ if we make death our friend he could be more kind in the end,
but we won't know where or when he's coming through.
i saw flowers of death in his eyes
i would ask him what he sees is there another side
but he's already said goodbye
i can see the flowers of death in his eyes

This is just great. I agree it'd be nice to be able to read the lyrics. Your voice comes through just right on this to my ears, and love the instruments (is that a squeeze box?) Thanks - this is first rate!

I like the story, upbeat sound with a lil blues about dying, I can relate to it.

Wonderful vibe and really like the unplugged sound.Nice melodies from all the various instruments, fine, solid songcrafting and vocal work, even the miscues on the backup vocals adds touch of live performance.Would also like to see the lyrics posted.Very good piece of songwriting that was much enjoyed.
Blessings,

glad you folks liked this one! I'm enjoying your stuff as well. this is a great site...
i'm also glad it sounded suitably unplugged given that all the instruments were fake except guitar and voice!
lyrics are not my strong point but this was pretty reality based. I'll post them when I get a chance...
