Description:
Lavalamp unplugged. I know it could have used a nice solo, but I thought I'd run it by you all first.
Lyrics:
On and On
If you see me coming
There is nothing, I'd rather do
Silver cockroach ceiling
Crawling underneath my pair of shoes
And this thing goes on and on like a cold in June
And this thing goes on and on like a Sunday afternoon
Oh my, the tingling
Take my covers and my heater, too
Counting all my tiny feelings
A lot of pain, I never knew
And this thing goes on and on like a cold in June
And this thing goes on and on like a Sunday afternoon
Several made up stories
Break the camera; let's start a coup
Exercise the fever
The albatross has never flew (flown)
And this thing goes on and on like a cold in June
And this thing goes on and on like a Sunday afternoon

What the . . .? &mdash 03/14/08 - 04:06:17 PM
Cool song. I have to say though. Back in the 60's we would have taken some psychedelics and all have known exactly what this song was about (lol). Now, well . . its just like yellow matter custard, dripping from a dea dogs eye (;->). Anyway, this is an interesting unpluged tune. I think it stands on its own, but could also be dressed up if you want (acoustic lead?). I like the singing a lot.

I can write some logical lyrics, too. But, I tend to stray into those free-form ways. Just open thoughts, you know?
Mixing it up a bit.
Glad you liked it.

LL unplugged is a good thing, its short yet sweet but rocks out like no tomorrow, great addition to the pantheon of rock n roll here at MJ [ Reply to This ]

bare bones and i don't think it should be any other way.
"Silver cockroach ceiling, Crawling underneath my pair of shoes." that paints a surreal picture.
the Buddy Holly hiccups was cool, too! [ Reply to This ]

No need &mdash 03/15/08 - 07:30:06 PM
to add anything more to this in my opinion, sometimes its best to keep something stripped back and clean, and this is one of them. You vocals just keep getting better too. Keep up the good work.

cool &mdash 03/17/08 - 09:46:13 PM
I really like when the drums come rolling in on that second line. Midi or loop? I've got such a bad ear for those things, I can never tell. I also like the lyrics. I used to write off the wall lyrics almost exclusively. It comes more natural for me. I'd carry around a little notepad and write down words I thought sounded cool or funny and just through them in anywhere. Example being, "You've got a magazine rack and some cheapskate DNA". Love it! Keep the crazy stuff coming! [ Reply to This ]

Just the GB loops, that's what I use.
Thanks for visiting some of my other songs, too.
Always great to have an artist you respect appreciate your work.

need not apply :-) I think you've struck a great balance with the acoustic set. Your voice sounds passionate and I luv the lyrics. Sensical or not, they do create cool imagery. My fav line is "like a cold in June". [ Reply to This ]

Far out &mdash 03/27/08 - 12:11:31 PM
I really wish I could have written this. If "The Feeling" had released it they would have had another hit record with it.
I was hearing strains of Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan, Liam Gallagher and Mick Jagger in the vocal - not a bad mix!
Thanks for posting :) [ Reply to This ]

Thoughts from the Bull... &mdash 04/29/08 - 12:13:45 AM
You've got such a unique approach and style that always makes me feel like i'm walking into something special.
this one's no different. your vocal delivery here is just awesome. i love that voice! especially the "oo-ah-oon!"
musically, it's fairly easy on the ears. the drums are okay, and honestly - though they sound terrific - aren't even necessary. this would be fun to hear without the drums as a straight acoustic track - you are one of the rare ones who could pull it off!
still, the percussion is tight and adds a fuller dimension to the song. i love the words and my only wish is that this were longer.
fabulous work here! an easy fave! [ Reply to This ]
