Description:
Neighbour's daughter asked me about composing music, because she can not believe, that she can create hearable music on a piano without having notes to play along. I gave her a hint: Just find a starting note and try to tell a story.
She said: "Okay, but you first!" and hit the deep "C" on my keyboard. "Start here!", she said, and there I stood with my good hints...
This "story of a teacher and a student song" is the result.
Original take, no dubs, no corrections, first try...
She was convinced.

Thanks for listening and leaving such a nice comment.

I am glad you enjoyed it and happy that you found in the piece the kind of the conversation I meant.

Greetings,

Bernd

Gatekeeper of the soul &mdash 03/15/08 - 06:07:12 PM
Incredible! You took away her fear of improvisation. That is a shroud or gate lifted up and away. Now she is free to explore her thoughts and feelings through the medium of music.

A real joy to listen to this. Your story and her story.

Thank you for listening and leaving a coment, Richard!

I think, her parents are not so amused. She explores her keyboard now, and that sound is often not so appreciated like "Für Elise" from Beethoven....LOL

Greetings,

Bernd

I did some improvisational speaking and humming along with your piano track!

Do I hear a hint at my little piece from last summer "Take that Elise"?!

If this really is one original take with no corrections you truly are a magnificent piano player and musician! What a great improvisational conversation!

Also good to here from you again! Hope all is well?!

I am OK, but I miss that we had no winter here this year (until just now we've had a little snow and a few cold days - when we had already started to think of spring...)

(Sorry, this was a reply to an earlier post, but MJ can't find the page or something, so I try this way instead.)

For Elise:

DIDIDIDIDIDadudada!

LOL!

Oh I remember such painful desperation in the faces of my family, when I gave piano lessons for some younger neighbor kids...

As teacher you don't mind, but when you can't intervent and have to hear the same error over and over again, it' s really cruel!

Thank you for listening and leaving a comment!

Bernd

Sorry, &mdash 03/23/08 - 05:30:05 PM
but I really don't think this mess was my fault

I have the same problem with "songprofile not found" or so... Seems to be a bug.

BTW: Really first shot, no changes (I think you can hear some errors) I was astonished, too, because my music skills are really not so high.

This will not work every time, I think I was in good shape this day....;-)

Glad you enjoyed it!

Bernd
