Thanks for listening. I recorded an original stripped down version of this in a different key that did have vocals but they just didn't work on this version. After listening a few times I can see how it would work both ways too.

nice smooth intro. when the guitars came in tho, perhaps it could have done with a bit more low end. either in the strings played, or in the tone. i use two tracks for my bass, one low and deep, the other slightly distorted and tinny, then mix the two for volume to get a really fat overall sound. great start to what promises to be a fine alt-rock song

Yeah I'm working on a remix to get a better sound. I've been trying to use the 2 bass track method, but this definitely feels it could have more low end in parts. I'm going to lower some of the guitars as well.

Very solid mix. Your guitar work carries the day but I think it deserves some lyrics. If you don't like writing them you might experiment with some random recordings, snatches of conversation, people on the radio whatever, just to give it more of a story. Good work. [ Reply to This ]

To me, this is begging for vocals. It's a great track and I really like the melody. The drums really fit this too. I'm listening on my laptop so I can't really comment on the mix, but everything sounds clear to me. I really hope you can get vocals happening for this track- it's too good to let slip by!! I'm working on the mix with vocals added as we speak. I took a while to post this because it felt a little thin without the vocals. I'm glad I got it out though.
