techie thoughts...
not a style of music I know anything about, so I'll offer overall technical thoughts... other than an overall "good" sounding song structure, I thought the singing was good, and the guitars/drums seemed really tight and well played. The overall mix sounded good and bad. The bad part was that there seemed to be a "flatness" to the overall mix equalization, perhaps boosting a bit of high end and bass would give this more bite... the good part was that the panning of the instruments was quite good and kept everything distinct, even though the EQ seemed to be muddying things together a bit. This is also a headphone-listen, listening on a stereo may be quite different... but this is compared to several other pieces I've heard the same way, so I'm trying to base it on other music. Hope this is helpful! Sounds like the band plays really well together.

Well I liked it...
I've always had a thing for good solid meaningful CW music. Nicely done.

I have little experience with EQ and mixing but the tune sounds good. Take a tip from the heavyweights (drak is one of them) and play with the eq and see what comes up.

The instruments are great and well played. Vocals are great. Thanks so much for posting this.

Like Drakonis, this isn't a genre I have any experience with. However, this is GOOD (I know that much), and I'm really liking the clean vocal harmonies and the vocals in general. Nice toe tapper tune. Like that key change in there - keeps it interesting in the best possible way. If you decide to play with the EQ, you'll be amazed all the wildly different sounds you'll get by just small adjustments - then if you're like me, you won't know what the heck to do next! Good work.

Sounded..

.. like "The Crash Test Dummies" to me.. with a hint of Hayseed Dixie... so kinda pop-country to me ;o)

.. and therefore .. I loved it!! Fabulous singing .. sweet mix .. my kind of easy-listening.

Fine little bridge change at 02:22 btw .. and I liked the
song concept/lyrics too. Fine song here.. in the tradition of .. er .. fine songs! :o)

Outstanding song...
how this gets a middling vote, I'll never know. Here we go... a thoroughly well written, well performed country rock song... too good! I really like those backup harmony vocals... the kind of touch that boosts a song from good to reeeeaal gooood!

cheers

voting
the rating comes from those who choose to purposely give it a bad rating either in spite or they just don't like it. I don't mind crappy votes as long as it is explained in a comment. It was at 9.51 1 day ago and.....well you get the picture. Thanks for the comment and the listen. Glad it was enjoyed.

Thought I did this already..
HA! Great song... was reading some of the comments regarding the mix. Personally, I think it's very strong... my guess is you uploaded a lower bit rate file to help protect your interests... mix sounds pro.. quite a nice spread there.

Excellent song writing... this has some serious hooks, IMHO. Tell us when and where to buy it... I'd like something like this in my collection.

more pop than country
At least, to my ear. True, today's country has a lot of pop infused melodies and hooks, but lyrically, country music still stays true to it's roots (for the most part) and I didn't feel that was the case here.

That being said, the production is solid, the melody is fresh and never stumbles. I just wanted something more from the lyrics.

Nicely done!
