Thanks Mark
Your guitar and vocals sound really sweet. What talent.
it was actually brilliant to listen too- with my earphones in. Loved everything about this and your lyrics are really great. I will be downloading this to my ipod thats for sure. Thanks for sharing .
Peace Dee
write some ballads like no one else.
my only nit would be that the mix is kind of flat. and i mean this in the most constructive way. it seems like all the instruments are competing for the same space. maybe with some eq and possibly compression, it can change the dynamics of the drums and bass, so they bring out the guitar, rather than swallow it. other than that, a great concept, well written peice. thank ou for posting

This is a fun tune with all kinds of hooks. Welcome to Macjams, from a fellow Canuck.
Rock on!

I appreciate the visit and kind words and am always happy to meet a fellow Canuck lol. Take it easy bro.

I think the guitar is a bit heavy for a rythm. I would suggest a cleaner electric sound with your acoustic and maybe have this guitar mix far in the back for additional effect. The melody you play on your guitar is very cool but it is getting a bitlost in the distortion. You have a really great voice and it would be ashame to miss it in the mix. Just some constructive advise... I will definitely be listening for more. Cheers
guygrooves
I am always open to constructive advice and I am happy you took the time to give it. I understand what you are conveying to me and will make a note of it when the song is redone. With the likes of you and a few others so far I have found a rich resource within this site and I expect it will elevate my production capabilities extensively. Thanks again mate take care.

Great bit of songwriting here guy, and a good solid backup to it as well.
The only thing I noticed that might need to be addressed was the difference between the backup and the vocal. Where the backup is rich in reverb, the vocal sounded a bit dry, and the difference between the two is a little distracting to my ears.
Keep in mind, you're getting mixing advice here from a man that's deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other so take it with a grain of salt. But you might want to listen to it again and see if the balance isn't a little awkward.
It's a potentially great song that in MHO just needs a little tweaking to get it where it really wants to go.
Love what you've done on it, it's a definite keeper for sure.
Peace

Great advice and kind words from a guy who hears just fine lol. It has been pointed out before and you have just confirmed it, almost word for word lol. I thank you for your kind words and HO lol I do appreciate it and will always listen to what you think. I have been by your page before and I was headed back there when I had some time to really listen to your stuff and pick a few favorites all the more reason to do it now Thanks Ed.

and there's nothing wrong with that. The song it's self took less then one play to hit me and there's nothing wrong with that either. At first I thought that it could maybe do with a counter harmony on the chorus but now I don't. The sound is lovely and warm, and personally I don't like too much effect on a voice perferring by far a dry sound, which is exactly as you have it. A fave and a download,
John.
guygrooves
Very cool thing to say and I think I might incorporate the vocal idea .
Very nice song, I liked the music and vocals sound together. Wonderful!

your singing all day long. I don't know if it is just my speakers, since no one else commented on it, but there was a scratchy interference throughout. I will have to come back and listen again, in the hopes that that doesn't interfere with you beautiful voice.
guygrooves
You are very kind. I think I know what it is making the noise you are hearing and it will be corrected in the next mix before it's mastered. I have learned a lot from MJ's and I am applying it to all the re mixes of these songs to get them ready for an album that will be out sometime soon hopefully. Thanks again for your comment and courage to speak about what you hear.
