You got a touch of Lennon in you. I don't know how long you worked on that guitar tone, but it's near perfection.

a piece of junk till I discovered that a famous singer song writer uses the exact same one. I put on some fatter strings which are kind of hard to play but improve the tone quite a bit. And one of the tracks I did the steel drum/guitar trick
(you thread a piece of paper between the strings at the saddle to make it sound staccato) Thanks for the comment. Regards

I wasn't thinking Lennon but I'd be a fool (on a hill) not to relish such a comparison. I wasn't able to get drum loops to work properly so I just added some perc via the midi keyboard, soon I'll buy some real bongos. Thanks for the visit. Cheers

on a side note on the guitar sound...remember the hermans hermits tune...mrs brown you have a lovely daughter....they did the same thing with sticking some paper up the neck and getting that plunky sound...i used to use it too when we played live...aahhh great memory! thanks for the track buckhorn!

I like that paper trick. I find that when there are too many big rich tones in a track, the mix is bound to get muddy(my trade mark sound) especially if one has the lack of arraigning skills that I have. Thanks for the words.

One of my favorite lyric guys is Tom Waits. Some of his tunes are basically a list of many differnt objects with very few verbs or pronouns but those objects tell there own story. Glad you Noticed. Thanks for stoppin by.

Man, I am so impressed with your lyrics. The way this evolves is very imaginative and clever. "...bad novocain for a final refrain" is a good example of your fantastic songwriting skills! Your voice and guitar sounds crisp and they really sit perfect in the mix. If you think you can play bongos, you should try. Drums are my biggest challenge. You seem to like those little sticks or blocks. It simultaneously feels nostalgic and comedic to me. I'm quite fond of those sounds too, but I prefer the vibraslap.

I don't know whether it is the super simple drums ala Ringo or the chord progression ala Lennon that reminds me so much of the fab 4, but not a shabby comparison nevertheless. Especially the bridge and the return. "A photograph crumpled under my shoe" what an excellent line. Really great tone on the acoustic, I'll have to try that paper weaving trick.--PV

I used to think Ringo, kind of sucked because he didn't go off and hit the skins a million times like, Kieth Moon. But lately I've been thinking he's a really great drummer, simple and bold as a drummer ought to be. John Bonham was simalar in that respect. Thanks for the comment. Regards
