I have made many really fine friends here at MJ; Mysti, Alimar, Futzie, Adam, Caroline, the Dragon, Scottie, ejh......man it goes on and on...curry, tiler...man,,,how blessed.
One of the nicest in the place is my pal Bob Prince aka Ava's poppa, aka GUITAHPICK.
He Plays great, sings great and writes cool tunes....and he is one of the rarest birds, a gracious Yankees fan.
He is preparing the release of his first Cd for Lost records, and he is understandably very pumped. This is a good luck wish of a tune for him.
I have a closet in my studio, that until last week was full of crap. I cleaned it out, and set it up as a vocal, acoustic guitar booth. This is the first recording using the little wooden room (see picture). Minimal eqing was done and the old Gibson J50 has no pickups, so this is the sound of the closet...
enjoy some late night blues.
good luck to bob!!!

great tone, love the slide. Always great music from you.

you really know how to squeeze the lickins out of your guitars whether it be electric or acoustic.
A fun listen.
I hear a bit of Hawaiian too :) Which makes it all the more fun!
Thanks for sharing Z !

...this made my day. With these sentiments, you could have farted "Jingle Bells" and I'd have loved it...but this is really freakin' good...I love a mic with an acoustic...and the closet's as good a place as any to record...sound's as real as can be...such a pleasure to hear you play in any style...
Thanks, Fran. This means a lot to me...aw shucks...
BTW: Not to be ungracious *ahem*...and I do understand you're from *shudder* Boston and all...so GUITAHPICK (accent on the "AH") is an understandable pronunciation...but, for anyone who reads this...here is the true pronunciation of my august namesake:
"Git A Pick" (emphasis on the "Pick")...as in: "Hey...I think I'll Git A Pick and play some guitar"! Or, if you'd like: on the first syllable, as in "Sugarfoot" (the old Western tv series). I'm pretty handy with a sixshooter...

I was pronouncing it the same way as Fran... heheh. Thanks for the lesson.

Fran- I still say this is a great example of the "it's too damn hot to sleep, gonna sit out on the front porch swing instead" blues.
You got some great sound here, my friend!
Mcboy

This is GREAT! I generally don't recommend that people be in the closet, but in this case it's sweet! You're such a master at this sound - it's a pleasure to hear you play. And I had the "guitapick" pronunciation all wrong too, so special congrats to you Mr. "get-a-pick" and thanks for the lesson. Fran - you ARE the KING of DUKES!
